I immediately had to figure out how to turn off that dreaded "motion-smoothing" crap. Our last TV was so old, it didn't even have that feature. My wife was even like "why does everything look like it's a day-time soap opera?", lol.

Breaking in the new TV with a revisit of Resident Evil (2002)
We got a new TV! Wife's tax refund check came in, and while she was originally wanting to use some as a down-payment on a new(er) car, they're just too expensive right now. Our old TV was a hand-me-down from her folks. This is a big splurge for us, but as a movie-lover, I am truly excited!! ππΏ
I miss the old $2 theater that was in an old run-down mall a couple of towns south of me, always worth the trip.
Ba-ba-ba-boom!
We had some steak marinating in the fridge for my wife's birthday on Saturday, but she decided she wanted Taco Bell instead. Forgot they were still in there, so with today's beautiful weather, will have to grill them up for dinner this evening. What a treat!
Haven't seen it.

I noticed that too, recently.
I love this one. I put off renting it for quite awhile, because when I'd see the VHS box-art, I thought it was a typical 80's actioner. But what a wild, fun premise it ended up being, tackling consumer culture, religion, and even scientology! What a gem, that movie.
My wife just gave the Gremlin a slice of cake with lots of sugary icing, because it's daylight savings time and such and everyone's messed up, please send prayers for when I try to get her to bed here soon, lol.
"I'm trying to bang Farrah Fawcett, but that boy ain't right, I tell ya what" π
I still find it funny that apparently Bea Arthur hated cheesecake in real life, lol
I saw something awhile back, that in like 150 years or so of Trump's, none of them have EVER "served". I mean I'm opposed to military duty, but my dad was in the Navy, and my best friend from high school joined the Marines, it's wild how that entire family just didn't give a shit about serving.
One of my favorite teenage movie-going experiences.

The first and last time I saw this, I went to a high school party, my ride left, and the dude who hosted played this for me and a friend, while he made us sandwiches, and I waited for my ride home to show up. He was a pretty cool dude.

A bowl of fresh guacamole, with mashed avocados, and diced onions and jalapenos
My wife bought some avocados last week while we were at Costco (because they were cheap), and she just made a big-ass bowl of fresh guacamole. π€πΌπ₯π€€
I did Nazi that coming
Cartman "Faith Hilling"
Is he bringing back "Faith Hilling", lol
Hooray, I found it! She had hidden it in an open box of diapers in her room (along with one of her forks, and a Bluey figurine, apparently). Kids, man.
THE BIRDCAGE, directed by Mike Nichols and written by Elaine May, was released on this day in 1996. Celebrate the 30th anniversary with it kicking off a night of women-scripted classics starting at 8pm ET on Pluto TV 90s Throwback: pluto.tv/us/live-tv/5...
I managed to pull out the entire couch while the wife and Gremlin were gone today, and still no luck on this remote search, lol. For all I know, it's hidden somewhere in her room or something, lol.
Well the Gremlin is now at the age where she can take and lose the TV remote, lol. I've spent most of the morning looking for it (to no avail), needing to adjust the volume on the TV manually like some kind of cave man, lol.
Especially when you also find out later that there's bonus material either during or after the credits. Plus most times I just like to read them, really.
She was in an episode of The Twilight Zone as well, the one with the robot nanny. I was blown away when I realized, but I could tell almost immediately because of her eyes, lol.
I remember staying up every night to watch Conan on Late Night, and still having to get up at like 5:30 am for school, lol. No idea how I could do that as a teen, but definitely did.
My wife decided to take this week off from work with some vacation time she saved, as a late birthday present to herself. Which means I get to sleep in a little as she's an early riser, but I'm also sure she'll have "projects" she'll want me to tackle while she's home, lol.
Hooray for going to bed an hour early tonight, lol.
I bet he gave Dick Miller a high-five at some point, lol
Yeah, FUCK AI, and fuck you NPR.
I watched this again this week, and it was just as fun as I remembered.
