-redid thor, I love him and wanted to do his portrait justice
-current wips are strange, two caps, shangchi, a Dora milaje, and Rudy (a cm)
-i want to start drawing more of the Campus cms
- facilier was a request (but also I love dr facilier)
- a few of the original 8 will be redone (I've already redone the Thor, shown in the next post) these were basically me learning to draw again and im not happy with several of them
- the Dora milaje, red guardian, and dr facilier are the only ones I havent been able to give in person
- the Dora and red guardian were the hardest from start to finish - thor is consistently difficult tho
some notes:
- these are in order of oldest to newest. to me the improvement is staggering but im biased
- I hadnt really drawn consistently for about 5 or 6 years before this
- both caps have become my fave to draw
the original 8 were completed in 2 weeks.
Three and a half months later, I've completed 31, given out 27 of them, and have 4 wips in my bag. Im at Avengers Campus 3 days a week drawing with no plan on stopping - the list keeps growing.
the other 4 of the original 8
on July 11th, I started a slightly insane project - complete eight 5x7 charcoal portraits of my fave characters from Avengers campus in dca. the plan was to give them to each of them for my birthday, a last hurrah after not renewing my pass. these were the original eight.
Ending season 0 on GM, I think i could have ranked a bit higher (gm 2 or 1) if I had played more c&d versus rocket but I live for being a little guy. Happy overall though for mostly solo queue! #MarvelRivals
1. The Henna Wars by Adiba Jaigirdar
This book has been on my TBR for quite awhile so I'm glad my random number generator finally picked it. The mc makes some choices that drives me mad sometimes but overall I thought this was a fantastic lgbtq+ read.

I FORGOT THE PICTURE :(
19. Sachiko: A Nagasaki Bomb Survivor's Story by Caren Stelson
Historical narrative non fiction, a heart breaking read. It's short but meaningful and necessary to read to not forget what happened.

18. Shut Up You're Pretty by Tรฉa Mutonji
A collection of short stories about a Congolese girl from adolescence to adulthood, lots of difficult subjects but beautifully written.

Up from diamond 3 to diamond 2 tonight. Really pushing for that GM but it's hard in solo queue lmao #MarvelRivals #marvel
17. The Last Cuentista by Donna Barba Higuera
Reads like a book that they'll be reading in late elementary school/early middle school like The Giver or Bridge to Terabithia, incredible storytelling in this one.

16. The Ride of a Lifetime by Robert Iger
Interesting to read this in 2024 with Iger back in the CEO seat, but a good read all around. Iger describes it as not a memoir but at times it definitely feels like a memoir.

15. Blood to Poison by Mary Watson
Oh man i REALLY liked this one. Magic, generational trauma, sexism and feminism, and delightfully well written. Full of lots of twists and turns that keep the reader guessing.

I always wish I could write just a bit more to add a little more summary context to them but gotta work with what bluesky gives me! Lol
I'm trying to hit my goal of 75 books even though I was really bad this year and barely read until about October. I had 15 books read by October - I'm now at 61. 14 more books in 7 days, I got this lmao.

14. Ever Since by Alena Bruzas
A tough story to read about SA and spiraling, good but all the characters are so damn frustrating (except for Ro. Ro was perfect.)

13. This Way for the Gas, Ladies and Gentleman by Tadeusz Borowski
Reading books on the holocaust is always a tough read but so necessary.

12. Come on In by Adi Alsaid
A collection of short stories about immigration. It was a quick read, but each story was enjoyable in their own way.

11. Women are the Fiercest Creatures by Andrea Dunlop
This book was good but lacked at times. For women who were supposed to be powerful, they didn't feel it. Jessica got the short end of the stick here and a little disappointed in not seeing Jake blow up at the end.

10. The Lesbiana's Guide to Catholic School by Sonora Reyes
Very very very good book. Minor complain that a plotline or two felt like they didn't really end up going anywhere, but not a huge deal. Loved the main character and how real she felt.

9. How to Summon a Fairy Godmother by Laura J. Mayo
im a sucker for evil stepsister retellings. this one was good and i'm excited for a sequel, even if the main character's speeches were a bit much at times. also some threads unanswered i'd like to see in future books.

8. Yellow Wife by Sadeqa Johnson
Historical fiction that isn't the easiest of read content wise, but such an incredible read. The ending is a bit abrupt, but otherwise a fantastic book.

7. Eva Evergreen and the Cursed Witch by Julie Abe
REALLY need there to be a third book announced in this series, I love it very very much.
