Cheney said he hated Trump, yet it was the Bush Administration that courted the far-right conspiracy theorists and religious nuts that now make up the current day MAGA movement. Cheney helped creat the conditions for someone like Trump to rise to prominence.
Well, the news that Dick Cheney is no longer in this world brightened my day a bit.
With all the bad things happening in the world, we are owed something good. Cheney was a war criminal whose actions have killed many hundreds of thousands. He's no different than Putin, in my opinion.
Cheney was the architect of the Iraq War and a war criminal. His actions contributed to the destabilizing of much of the Middle East that continues to this day and has killed 100s of thousands. All to enrich himself and his buddies in big oil. The world has suffered b/c of him. He won't be missed.

After I heard of the passing of actor Richard Chamberlain, I decided to read 'King Solomon's Mines' (1885) by H. Rider Haggard. It is a well-written adventure, but very much written in the Victorian mindset of the era it was published in. Read with an open mind and from a historical perspective.
I finally finished reading Terry Pratchett's two early sci-fi novels that heavily influenced what would become the Discworld series: 'The Dark Side of the Sun' & 'Strata'. It was fun seeing where some of the more familiar elements of the Discworld series originated. Highly recommend.
