City school to have police at drop off after 'dangerous' parking Windmill Primary School in Headington will have a police presence during school pick up and drop off times due to 'dangerous' parking by…

Can't @theoxfordmail.bsky.social reporters even use Google maps? Magdalen Road is NOWHERE NEAR Windmill School. Unbelievably poor journalism. It's no wonder the circulation is collapsing.

A huge pothole with ballast from the road spilling out of it.

Ridgefield Road by Leys Place in East Oxford. Terrifying on a bike and probably fatal on a scooter.

I Have Referred Dr Hilary Cass to the GMC Why I believe the Cass Review falls short of the professional standards expected of every registered doctor.

This gives me some hope that things might improve for our trans and GNC siblings if the government takes note. I really hope it does.

Hello @annarailton.bsky.social I don't know if you're aware but there is a problem with a key City Cycle route past Cowley Marsh Park. The ditch is blocked so Barracks Lane is flooded making cycling messy and dangerous. Can you help? Lots of reports already e.g. www.fixmystreet.com/report/8733414

Looks pretty close. It will be interesting to see how the votes move. Particularly where the "usual" Tory and Labour votes go.

View of Rymer's Lane showing Cyclists Dismount sign

Rymer's Lane showing gas works, heading South this morning by Flo's. I thought @oxfordshirecc.bsky.social had a policy against Cyclists Dismount signs? Particularly pointless ones like this? There was plenty of room both for cyclists and pedestrians.

Nigel Farage inadvertently breached MPs' financial rules 17 times, says watchdog The parliamentary commissioner for standards said Farage had apologised after missing the deadline for registering interests.

I'll just get my tiny violin. And hope that this man is as compassionate and understanding to other MPs if they find themselves in this situation. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Reminder to everyone: If a web page asks you to open PowerShell or press the windows key and "R" it is not a quick fix, it is not an urgent patch. It's a burglary where you open the door and let the criminal in. Don't fall for it. (from a LinkedIn post by the CEO of EscapeVelocity)

To all motorised vehicle drivers: I'm not apologising for using the main carriageway rather than the ungritted and icy cycle path today. You only get to the next queue quicker if you barge past me. Be patient. Be safe. It's -4 degrees C !

Evan Davis: Why so many people break 20mph speed limits After receiving a speeding ticket, Evan Davis explores why so many people have broken 20mph limits across the country.

A very car and driver centric article. My 9 year old Ford Ka+ has a speed limit. Don:t almost all cars since then have them? They are really very easy to use and definitely save lives.

Sorry to hear this, Sarah. The chronic underfunding of the NHS over many years is having some very troublesome effects. Does your GP offer an e-consult? That can work quite well if it's appropriate in your husband's situation.

Car crash sees cyclist taken to hospital and Oxford road closed A road in Headington was closed after a crash between a car and cyclist saw the cyclist go to hospital with injuries.

I am amazed that there are not more injuries to cyclists given the almost criminally dangerous design of the sick joke that is "access to Headington". It would be better called "access to the emergency department". Shame on @oxfordshirecc.bsky.social! www.oxfordmail.co.uk/news/2545916...

I do have a faith so am not quite on the same page but I would absolutely disestablish the Church of England tomorrow if I could. There should be no ex-officio places in parliament for religious leaders.

green wheely bins blocking a driveway and a traffic filter bollard left on the side of the road by council bin emptiers.

I wonder why @oxfordcitycouncil.bsky.social bin emptiers have turned my driveway (just the bit to the right of the line down the middle) into an LTN and removed the actual street LTN bollard. Not helpful when visitors in a car are about to arrive.

I like my bosch gas hob with knobs on it. It's stainless steel and 21 years old. Quite easy to clean too. I carbon-offset the gas hob by cycling to work :-) We also have a single induction ring that I use sometimes.

Police on scene after cyclist knocked off bike in Oxford collision A cyclist was knocked off their bike at The Plain roundabout in Oxford, police have confirmed in a statement.

Once again "car and cyclist", not "car and bicycle" or "driver and cyclist". The bias in local rags like @theoxfordmail.bsky.social is incredible. I'm glad there were no serious injuries, and happy to see "crash" rather than "accident" used to describe it. www.oxfordmail.co.uk/news/2554795...

I'm not sure I see the point in Covid testing any more unless being in close contact with particularly vulnerable people or groups. Covid is everywhere now. If I'm ill I stay at home, if I'm well I go to work. I want to avoid giving people any illness, not just Covid.
