I'm thinking of abandoning social media

Is there no way to disable autoplay on Youtube now? It seems to have gotten enabled and I can't find a place to turn it off

It's depressing the amount of ignorant people out there who think Japanese getting rid of kanji would be a beneficial thing

Kinda stuck on what to watch anime-wise. It seems like everything I have is either not serious enough or too serious for how I'm feeling

I think it's a result of it being around so long. 35+ years and they've had time to develop both the games world and as developers. Which is probably also why they went back and remade the first 3 games. Unfortunately they could never change the worst aspect of Rance as it was already hard baked in

It's nothing new. This is like the 2nd or 3rd attempt someone has tried to make an alternative more modern VNDB, but of course it doesn't offer nearly enough functionality and eventually it ends up going nowhere and being abandoned shortly after

Been working at my backlog of media and reevaluating whether I want to actually spend time with it.

Tried watching Crusher Joe the other day. It's apparently set in the universe of Dirty Pair (what I was actually thinking about watching) Could not stay interested in it. Questioning Dirty Pair now

Good old games? It's not a bad place to get games from. No DRM and some older titles you can't as easily find on platforms on Steam

They just see it as "Oh this looks and plays much differently from Chrono Trigger. Yeah the musics good but where's the time travel or the characters from the first game?" Kind of frustrating

Unrelated to the last post, I saw a streamer play Chrono Trigger for the first time. Saw people talking about Chrono Cross

I think it's fine to dislike Chrono Cross, but I feel like there's too many out there who dislike it because they didn't properly understand it at all

It's hard to explain Rance to people who have no idea about it. You can't not tell them about some of the more sensitive content, but the minute you do, it's hard not to feel people judging you for it

This site seems bad at showing me people's posts I actually want to see

I know I probably say this all the time, but my resolutions right now are

1) Spend less time with internet social media
2) Spend more time with Japanese
3) Finish every project I've started (or at least put some finality on them)

Granted it's not really the most challenging game. It's more VN than anything. The story however is peak.

I've wanted to give it to various friends and even my brother, but given they never fully play through any of the games I get them, I always hold off

Oh yeah, if you like JRPGs/Strategy RPGs and haven't played Utawarerumono series, might I suggest picking up the trilogy on Steam? They rarely go on sale compared to other stuff, but are on sale right now for the Winter sale

Reading about more streamers who do terrible things only solidifies the idea that most people should not be famous

If something is only spoilers if someone has the context of them being spoilers, you do more damage confirming it's spoilers "OMG huge spoiler"(etc) than someone showing the spoilerish content
