If you're wondering how bad things were at Pixar for women, the answer is pretty horrifyingly bad.

Oh wow, I also have that allergy after getting patch tested! But haven't had any reaction to my paints or paper. My issue was mainly other products that stay on my hands. I hope it works out! π I use gloves with inks just to avoid getting messy and it's not too bad after awhile.
Sorry I'm not more open-minded about LLMs, it's just some fucking maniacs shoveled out a bunch of useless bloatware featuring that technology, did not give me any chance to opt out, reorganized the entire economy around it, zeroed out gains made by green energy, and made it impossible to buy RAM
The two wolves inside me arguing furiously about whether I should yell at people who run this site.
Illustration from Blair Braverman's book "The Day Leap Soared". A dark grey Alaskan husky with brown ears is leaping over water with closed eyes and a serene smile. Her wavy reflection is mirrored below. Above her is a big full moon, and a sky at twilight full of colorful stars. She's framed by big trees the color of the sky. You can see where she leaped off of the bank on the left side because she's left pawprints on the snow in her wake. One big Leap for this month's #kidlitpostcard! π€ΈYou can find more of my work at: oliviawhen.com
It actually kicks ass how much the people who run this site hate the people who use it. Just constant seething meltdowns over having to put up with a bunch of artists, furries, and trans people instead of crypto-hustlers and AI guys making Linkedin-tier posts. I'm glad they're miserable, frankly
Just making sure you unmuted this

A government which does not want trans people to exist, and is legally allowed to force detransition in prisons, has created incentive for itself to put more trans people in prisons.
three horses with fiery manes, surrounded by yellow and green chrysanthemums. A green snake weaves it under the horses' hooves
Charge On. Something to celebrate year of the fire horse
Thank you Fen!! π I haven't drawn fanart in awhile!
Thank you! It's Sailor Manyo Hinoki, Rohrer and Klingner Alt-goldgrun, and Pennonia Dungo!
Ink painting of a little Rockruff leaping while holding many giant nasturtiums in their mouth. The stems curl around above and to the left. A shiny Magnemite looks at them curiously.
A tiny Zorua and Pombon on a white bg. They're both holding one long branch in their mouths together. They are probably rivals at the start of a long journey.
A couple more good dogs. Team of only little guys. πΌ
An ink painting of a Vaporeon smiling happily at the camera. Many big morning glories are tangled on a vine around their tail. The inside of the morning glories mimic the spiky collar shape around Vaporeon's neck.
A vaporeon sitting in profile and smiling with a few morning glories around them, and the vine curling around their tail again. Do you think surf would be useful for gardening purposes? Vaporeon wants to find out.
Happy 30th birthday Pokemon! Here are some paintings of my all time favorite. My only objective every game is to locate my dog.
These are so cute!! The flower and quilt ones! π₯Ί
The original for this is up in my store now if you're interested! oliviawhen.com/store
All proceeds from this painting will go to keepMNhoused.com!
I know, I kind of just viewed it like I do most other art supplies. Really blew my mind!
I feel like I need to do a concise fountain pen sins post, for when people can't remember who did what.
-Muji: coerced Uyghur labor
-Noodler's: racism (egregious), ink damages pens, covid conspiracist.
-Goulet: anti-queer, on staff for a southern Baptist Convention church.
...
I just saw that!! So disappointing, esp considering I feel like they're trying to target artists and art supporters with their aesthetic. They really played themselves.
MAKE AN EMERGENCY DONATION to Trans Continental Pipeline right now.
They are a Colorado based org that helps trans people relocate there and they are overwhelmed with requests. CO borders KS, and TCP has the infrastructure to help get people out.
GO DONATE.

I guess I gotta join that feed! Thank you for the heads up! And wow, what a buffoon lol I gotta dig into that.
It's noodlers, and then that led me to the goulet drama etc! I can't believe so much is going on, like why is the ink industry so fraught?? Are you all good?
Was no one gonna tell me it's run by one guy and he's an anti-mask conspiracy theorist to say the least?? There's actually a lot of other drama around other brands/sellers as well.
If you want to dig into some hobby drama: www.reddit.com/r/fountainpe...
Awhile ago I went to buy Noodler's southwest sunset, because I got a sample awhile ago and ran out in the middle of a project. And the the store clerk gave me a very raised eyebrow and said they don't carry Noodler's. And yes, now I see why! π«
I feel like I'm so chronically online, but every so often I'll show up years late to some huge controversies and feel completely out of the loop. I feel like fountain pen brand drama SHOULD reach me.
Photo of the two above paintings at an angle on a wood desk. Painted on a block of Arches hot press watercolor paper. Both are painted on the same sheet. Some gouache tubes and a square bottle of sailor manyo hinoki are littered around. Compared to the above paintings these are more cyan/less purple.
Rare occasion where the original actually came out okay! Just a lot of minor up, and shifting everything more purple to match the prompt.
An ink painting of a girl with her dark hair in pigtails, wearing a blue shirt and orange pants with orange buttons, standing next to a brown hound dog who's as tall as she is. They're standing in negative space in the shape of a house, looking surprised at a flower that's broken the shape above them. Outside the house is filled to the brim with purple, blue, gold, and olive colored flowers and plants. There are blackberries, forget me nots, hellebore, and crocuses. The bottom space bellow the house is filled with four leafed clovers of different sizes.
Hang in there, and do whatever you can to help. π
A simple house shape is filled to the brim with flowers and plants. Inside a girl with dark pigtails and a brown hound dog are playing around among them. The puppy lies on the stem of a bellflower so his best friend can wear hold it above her head like a cool hat. The text above in a blue purple ink reads "Keep Minnesota Housed!" Below the house in gold ink reads "adopt a rent or donate". Below that "KeepMNhoused.com".
Little painting to say that if you're able please consider donating to keepMNhoused.com! Rent is due soon for lots of families who can't safely leave their homes right now.
#keepMNhoused
Update: We got about one (1) beagle and a half of snow.
