JFC. LLMs are predictive text generators. They use probability and context against their training data. It's a parlor trick. It's an incredibly powerful and convincing parlor trick, but it is not consciousness.

If you know anything about how LLMs work, you know this is bullshit. (Not Kat's reporting. Claude gaining consciousness.) LLMs are predictive text engines. There is no capacity for intelligence. If it's showing "anxiety," it's only because that's how it was trained, either intentionally or not.

That was my thought as well when I received the email. Nobody is going to self-identify as having used AI. I appreciate that they're trying to do something, but this ain't it.
Yeah. I don't know why they came out so wonky. I may try to grab them again later, but the gist is another AI bro who refuses to understand that publishing is a creative endeavor from end-to-end.
Basically all his responses are, "I understand your concern, but I choose to ignore your concerns."

There has never been a technology that is so effectively turning everyone into silos of humanity, isolating ourselves because we can no longer tell what's real, and what's not, to the point that we just throw our hands in the air and say fuck it.
