I will concede that casters are more difficult to build because the sheer number of options available, but... spells are fun to read and discuss with your party- that seems like a silly excuse.
Don't get me started on his Whiteroom Magus, or the "weak" alchemist.

Alchemist can also just invalidate encounters with the entire party drunk on Cat's Eye vials and smoke bombing the start of a fight jfc I love them.
It's really a difficulty with players treating themselves as individuals instead of heroic unit of characters - it's "Our Damage! โญ"
Charisma characters destroy the will saves with Bon Mot or Demoralize, Glare if they don't share language; and save scaling makes -1 basically a level drain!
