The choice to not spend last summer made me nervous. Hiring an underwhelming OC with a ton of top-tier guys out there (seemingly because he'll run the offense HCDC wants) shook me. If we go into the season with an OL made of auto-generated Madden players that's bad.
The injured / declining OL was a huge part of the Lions slide last year. Without improvement there this won't be a bounce-back season, Goff will continue to struggle, and Gibbs will be running into walls.
I was bought into the plan but it's looking real shaky right now.
Between injuries and age it's not the end of the world to lose Decker...
... but the Lions had a top-2 OL 2 seasons ago and now we only have one really good player on the OL in total.
There's FA's available an we have the draft, but really not seeing how we fix this quickly.

I mean, can you? Is the average 3rd round pick better than a reasonably solid 4th line player? Sure, pick for pick value it's great, but 'potential value' vs 'realized value' isn't the same thing. It may still be a win but I'm not sure about the math to get there.

I get people having varied opinions on AI, but I do not understand this post at all. AI tools absolutely do not make us more independent from big business. Literally the largest businesses in the world are AI companies.

The conclusion I ended up at (personally, I'm not a reporter) was that it's certainly possible, and maybe probable, that we're using AI to target strikes including the school. However, no reliable reporting that I have found offers any confirmation of that, so it's not fact at this point.
That's both based on knowledge of broad use and the specific type of error (using old targeting data) that (presumably) led to bombing the school. There's assumptions there, but reasonable ones, and AI often makes this type of mistake in many contexts. It can't discern.
Yeah... I've seen that screenshot going around this morning and spent some time digging into the sourcing. What I ended up with is we know the military is using AI, and using it in Iran, the admin has said as much. The circumstances around the school bombing make it very likely AI was involved.

Sure, but it's not a remotely new issue, Google Glass launched 13 years ago. It wasn't -as- connected as Meta's is now, but still had all the same privacy concerns. Nothing happened then legislate the concern, so I really doubt anything will now, especially since Meta will obviously lobby against.

As someone who never cared for Smashing Pumpkins this fulfilled my priors. I definitely knew something was off with them 25 years ago, it wasn't just that I didn't care for their music or the people who listened to it.
