Donโt let the door hit you on the way out, Kristi Noem.
This ghoul has finally been fired. But make no mistake, Stephen Miller is still in charge of DHS and especially ICE.
MASSIE: โIran is not Venezuela. The Ayatollah was not a president. He was a religious leaderโฆ ๐บ๐ธ & ๐ฎ๐ฑ turned him into a martyr, expended billions, 6 ๐บ๐ธ families must now lay to rest their sons & daughters. And for what? This administration can't even give us a straight answer.โ
๐งต Todayโs news: Proton turned over payment info for a Stop Cop City account. Not good โ it's state repression in action.
Controversial opinion: We don't think this means all activists should abandon Proton for docs/email.
It depends on your threat model. Let's explore.
(Long thread incoming ๐)
We've been tracking nearly 200 lawsuits against the Trump administration over its attempts to leverage federal funding to impose the president's agenda.
The most startling pattern: The administration seems entirely undeterred when it loses in court.

Devastating.
You cannot talk like this about any other minority in America.
And if it was any other presidentโs adviser who said something like this about any other minority, itโd be the instant end of their presidency.
๐คฏ Our understanding of the deep seafloor is based on a small & biased sample.
There is still so much to understand before large-scale industrial activity should be considered in these environments.

Judge orders Greenpeace to pay $345m over Dakota Access pipeline protest.
Greenpeace the case is far from over after being found liable for defamation and other claims brought by pipeline company. #NoDAPL www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026...
Please read this article to the end. Even before ICE got involved, this started because this *blind man who speaks no English and uses a curtain rod as a walking stick* got lost on a walk and some Karen called the police on him and they tasered and beat him bc he didnโt drop the rod. WTF
"People have to give birth in their homes in secret, because if they were to go to a hospital to have their baby, masked agents of the state would abduct them....This is lived reality right now. This is the country you live in."
JVL and Tim Miller on what they saw in Minneapolis.
I can't get over this number: in 2007, there were 360,000 newspaper jobs. Now, there are 80,000. "My local paper sucked!" Sure. What sucks even more? The void. "I get all my news from the Guardian!" No, the Guardian doesn't report on your town council, your school board, local cops.
Yesterday, those who teach Intro to Sociology at Florida colleges (as opposed to universities) received a ready-made curriculum from the state and were ordered to teach it.
Yes, you read that correctly. The *state* is enforcing a curriculum on college profs, complete w/ the following restrictions:
$413,000 per bed. Insanity.
While they cut health care, food assistance, etc.
Like with using children as bait and eating at a restaurant then kidnapping the people who prepared it, ICE is routinely breaking taboos that have been part of human civilization since before recorded history.
NEW โ An obscure Navy contractor program is making Trumpโs plans to quickly build out and supply immigrant concentration camps around the country a reality.
Here I explain WEXMAC TITUS, an acronym you need to understand:
Flock is from Atlanta. Fusus is from Atlanta. Cop City is in Atlanta--so much of the surveillance and policing around the country comes from here. That's exactly why we need strong independent journalism on the ground sounding the alarm. Please give if you can to @atlpresscollective.com.
Why should you care about the ACPC's financial crisis, even?
1. Atlanta is the most surveilled city in the *world* outside China, with one camera per EIGHT people.
2. "Cop City" protestors were hit with RICO charges for 1st Amendment-protected activities such as handing out flyers and mutual aid.
ICE has now spent over half a BILLION dollars just on purchasing warehouses around the country to convert into detention camps.
If these mega-camps are utilized to the full capacity ICE intends, they'll be the largest prisons in the country, with little real oversight. www.ajc.com/politics/202...
The proposed centers are so large that some could house as many as 8,000 detainees at once, according to a DHS spreadsheet of more than 20 potential locations that was verified by NBC News. The largest federal prison in the U.S., for example, has roughly 4,000 inmates.
Ossoff: "You're seeing what I'm seeing, right? The president posting about the Obamas like a Klansman."
SEN. OSSOFF: โ.. why are roving gangs of masked men โ who look like they couldnโt pass the Army physical exam โ dressed up like pretend Delta Force operators, on our streets, demanding papers, dragging people from their cars, and shooting people to death?โ

I feel like this tactic of urban resistance is not exactly new (isn't this the sort of thing Haussmann wanted to stop in Paris?) nonetheless I'm all for it.
Dems should demand a full ICE withdrawal from Minneapolis as a condition for any deal. Please, just give us this. Get them out
