Love it.
Love it.
A picture of PEW poll on global attitude survey, saying the % who rate the morality and ethics of people in their country as good vs bad, where the US has the worst rankings and Canada the best
Americans: we live in a fallen stateβembroiled by sin, cheating, lying, and evil. You cannot trust anyone, not even those who claim to know you best
Canadians: I love my neighbors and my friends!
The internet may have been a mistake.
Really wish our Canadian leader had taken a similar position. As it stands, I am profoundly disappointed in our current PM.
I also donβt know. But I do know that I believe in the rule of law. Perhaps that makes me naive, but Iβm ok with that.
I was so disappointed in PM Carney in this. Regardless of what we think of Iranβs situation, the rush to support the US, despite their now explicit disavowal of the rules of engagement, is enough to lose my vote (side note: I am in University-Rosedale and about to have to vote again).

Safe Parkside, site of the speed camera that was cut down over & over leading to Doug ford banning them, reports another high speed crash on Saturday via their IG account. Somebody will die here again. Doug Fordβs Ontario.
There are more important things going on, but I'd like to note that I just made my first PowerPoint presentation with Claude and I am never going back. This thing is beautiful and all it took was my ~5 sentence prompt and 10 minutes of thinking.
Thanks!
That's helpful context. Have people (you?) raised this in any amicus briefs?
Worth noting that the U.S. is not a signatory to the UN Convention on the Reduction of Statelessness. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Convent...
Canada has a shameful history of our police doing this to the indigenous population (look up Saskatchewan starlight tours). Absolutely shameful and immoral.
If you look at US coverage of canada, our major issues are:
-Free speech
-vaccines
-DEI/woke
-immigration
If you look at UK coverage:
-MAiD
-immigration
If you look at polling its:
-US threat
-Immigration (but not as covered in either of those countries)
-employment
-cost of living
Luckily Toronto sports fans have trained for exactly this scenario.
Canada's official position at the UN General Assembly should be no more 3-on-3 hockey
Yes like every other lawyer in America Iβm reading about tariffs right now.
The Times? They know better than this. Embarrassing.
Never in a million years did I ever fathom when I resurrected the Epstein story in 2018 that it would lead to first arrest of a British Royal in four centuries. Not since King Charles I was arrested in 1647.

The TRO goes in depth and provides very specific requirements.

I don't normally re-skeet this sort of thing, but @benv.ca is a good friend who truly believes in this product (and it sounds actually useful!). Congrats to him and the team. (Go check it out!)
A simple proposal for federal judges frustrated that Trump Regime isnβt freeing people in response to habeas corpus orders:
Order that DHS bring each individual to court for their habeas hearing. If the judge grants habeas, the petitioner walks out free.
Bonus: huge pre-hearing burden on feds.
As an IP lawyer by original trade, I would like even one company to learn that sometimes even in a commercial you can just fucking say βSuper Bowlβ and you donβt have to say βBig Gameβ. Are you talking about selling people a new TV to watch the Super Bowl? Then guess what you can say in your ad?
"Maybe the city's full" says the man living in a 2.7 million dollar house on Palmerston, while sipping $170 scotch after defeating a multiplex proposal across the street.

BREAKING: The two federal immigration agents who fired on Minneapolis protester Alex Pretti are identified in government records as Border Patrol agent Jesus Ochoa and Customs and Border Protection officer Raymundo Gutierrez.
I literally just played this scene for my Patents students yesterday. RIP to an icon.
Agreed.
One thing to know: it's not like it's a free for all here. Abortion is highly regulated by the medical community directly. So while there are no criminal laws, there are restrictions.
On Jan. 28, 1988, the Supreme Court of Canada ruled the abortion provision of the Criminal Code was unconstitutional & violated the Canadian Charter of Rights. Since then Canada has had no abortion law and it is considered a medical procedure. We still have a lower abortion rate than the USA.
