Great explainer about what happening at NPS.
Communities who are already bearing much of the burden from industrial pollution are also at greatest risk from climate disasters. This order just makes environmental injustice worse.
In a new @newsweek.com, leaders from the @sierraclub.org, @nrdc.org, Environmental Defense Fund, and @earthjustice.org warn that the Trump administrationโs latest Environmental Protection Agency pollution policy puts corporate profits ahead of public health.
๐จ BREAKING: Trump is moving to eliminate the EPAโs Endangerment Finding โ one of the strongest legal tools we have to fight climate pollution.
We will fight this. Polluters should pay โ not the public. Read more at our statement bit.ly/4aNcAwb
๐จ Epstein survivors release this powerful PSA in advance of the Super Bowl demanding answers from the Justice Department. This is the Super Bowl ad every American should see. Spread it everywhere.
Verge headline: How the men in the Epstein files defeated #MeToo by Elizabeth Lopatto Photo illustration depicts a shadowy Epstein flanked by Peter Thiel, Elon Musk and Donald Trump, distorted by pink noise
"Itโs hard not to read these files and come to the conclusion that Epstein helped engineer the ultimate elite impunity โ in which our society has been totally destroyed so the richest and most powerful men in the world can do whatever they want."

What a fabulous way to let shelter dogs get some critical outdoor-human time and to let the world know theyโre available for a furever home!

Of course these beautiful creatures have imaginations! We already know the emotions of wonder and awe can be traced back to our primate ancestors. Only because weโre unwilling to believe that they have higher order thinking has it taken us this long to recognize it.

Having written about bees as commodity animals, I found this piece of advice fascinating:
Restoring one acre of habitat for each hive maintained could be enough to sustain the 40,000 insects living in a typical hive without starving the native bees.

Next, the ICE agent who murdered Nicole Good will be suing for libel... and will be awarded millions. www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...
I'm pretty sure that killing people with pollution is *also* bad business. Did anyone else spend 30-40% of their AGI on healthcare in 2025? (Or was that just me?) And I have good corporate insurance! My insurer paid six figures in care. That ain't cheap, so explain this "cost to businesses" to me.

Iโve shared many articles about how smart cows are, including ones that swim back to shore after being washed away in hurricanes. Now hereโs a story about a cow WHO USES TOOLS.
Still wanna shoot a bullet in her dumb head and eat her for dinner? #GoVegan

When we start targeting people (billionaires) rather than ideas (wealth inequality), we're going down the wrong path toward justice and equity.
Let's focus on the dollars and sense, leaving heightened rhetoric where it belongs:
In the dumpster.
Frank Lutz rebranded the Estate Tax as the "Death Tax" to incense everyday Americans into believing that they, too, would inherit millions of $, when only about 30% of people ever see any wealth transfer, let alone assets exceeding $15M. (Most get around $40K-$50K.)
www.usatoday.com/story/money/...
Words matter. I dislike calling this a "billionaire tax" because it targets people -- not money. Why not call it an asset tax? Or an ultra-wealth tax? Then it's clear to us plebes that it's not about us. Otherwise, we run into the "Death Tax" language issue.

โThe billionaire class has sought to convince those making $30-an-hour that their enemies are those earning $20-an-hour. They want the people to fight amongst ourselves so that we remain distracted from the work of remaking a long, broken system.โ

In 2026 I want all of the decent people to remember one thing.
You arenโt meant to be this disciplined, this self-sacrificing to survive. The environment is supposed to support good living. We can have that. You are not a failure. That is politics.
That is all.
I really love women who were problematic in eras where they were barely permitted to be sentient cause rebelling with a felony or four seems measured and reasonable under those circumstances.
I fight for animals because Iโm fighting for all life on Earth to be able to live free from harm and exploitation. I speak for those who have no voice, and in fighting for them, I hope to elevate the welfare and quality of life for all living beings everywhere. This is my 2026 promise. 5/5
Again, if people were chained to machines, forcibly impregnated, then had their children removed against their will, we would call that slavery. But we call cows โdumb,โ justifying their enslavementโthe same argument used to subjugate other humans. Denigration justifies the brutality. 4/5
I recently heard an episode of Marketplace interviewing a dairy farmer who snarkily said, โYou hear anyone being abused around here?โ Which means that abuse is only real if sounds like torture. 3/5
If an animal is worthy of humane treatment, why is it also worthy of being murdered? If we talked about owning slaves this way, by that logic, โniceโ slave owners were treating those humans as worthy of kindnessโbut not their freedom. Thru that lens, this speciesism becomes clear. #AnimalRights 2/5
I respect Temple Grandin for her singular way of viewing the world, but when I hear that including cattle in her new (admittedly gorgeous) portrait at the National Portrait Gallery is proof that these creatures are worthy of humane treatment, I want to explode. A ๐งตabout #AnimalWelfare. 1/5

Alsoโyou should know you blew my mind at Reparations Book Club in LA talking about white womenโs proximity to white male powerโฆ hence why Iโm just chilling with my girls of all colors. Bye bye, white supremacist patriarchal bullshit!!
