I told her I do, and that Jack also knows that, and that it's important that this one is. She looked unsure. So I explained what's happening in the story, and she not only decided it makes sense, but also got real interested in how things play out!

I checked with a family member to make sure I wasn't confusing donkeys and mules when I was writing this. I didn't want the wolf to be as big as a mule. Might as well just go with a horse then, and that was way too big!

She said, "You do know a big wolf is still smaller than a donkey, right?"

When that's how things are going for me, I choose one thing that I can focus on quickly for joy. It doesn't fix anything, but it helps me get through it.

Elephants. Honestly, I focus on how wonderful it is to be on the same planet as elephants.

This wasn't just a one day thing, and you don't have to start an account just to read it.

I dont want anyone telling me we cant afford shit when we are able to drop billions of dollars on a fucking random ass war for no reason.

We can afford healthcare, education and fix our fucking infrastructure.

I went from "write it on the side and keep it to yourself" to "publish one collection and get it out of your system". But that really just unlocked me getting even more back into it.

So it became "I can do both". Now I'm on the edge of "maybe I want to focus more on the poetry".

There's no question in my mind about whether or not I'll be finishing the book I'm working on. The stories of these characters, and their village as family, mean too much for me to stop.

Beyond that, I'm really looking at how things are going with my poetry. I may be more devoted than I expected.

If you like books. If you hate censorship. If you love kids. Please do this one important thing to fight a national book ban. Right now, if you don’t mind. Yes, just stop scrolling for a second and make the call and then you can come right back. Thanks!
