#AFL round 3 predictions
Bombers vs.Power - Bombers by 2
Blues vs.Bulldogs - Blues by 10
Demons vs.SUNS - Demons by 6
Saints vs.Tigers - Saints by 29
Hawks vs.GIANTS - Hawks by 22
Crows vs.Kangaroos - Crows by 29
Eagles vs.Dockers - Dockeers by 20
Got a few categorical variables working for my random Forrest AFL model, namely venue and state. Interesting to note that by far the variable of most importance is my Elo team rating, which counts for upwards of 80% of variable importance (if I’m interpreting it correctly)
Go dees. The model and I will be on opposite sides of the couch for this one.
Ok initial Random Forrest is working, but not categorical features yet. predictions are a little wild right now, so going to stick to my Elo model until I'm happy. Keen to give this thing a run this season, but also thinking "if it ain't, broke don't fix it...."

What do you think the single most important predictor is for an #AFL match?
Yet to be determined… I like to keep things simple, so will something like smoothed scoring shots/goals/Elo rating (from current model) etc.
