Good news for human artists! From Publishers Marketplace:
On Monday, the Supreme Court refused to hear a case that challenged whether AI-created art could be copyrighted. Now, the lower court's decision stands, holding that copyright only applies to human-created art.

Apple lies right on top of Sunshine, and Sunshine loves it.
People are so surprised when they get what they voted for.
A tan background with gray and brown squares features an image of a young white woman with long dark brown hair smiles at the camera. She wears a light pink cardigan, and stands in front of a building with gray siding. A brown neuron sits at the top of the page above teal script reading βEmily Lapomardoβ and brown text reading, βEmily is a queer disabled writer and educator from the Boston area. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in English from Bridgewater State University. She believes in the power of advocacy, and showing up authentically in all areas of life. In her free time, she enjoys reading literature and raging against the patriarchy.β
A tan background features a teal neuron and brown text reading, βEmily loves a wide array of stories and forms when reading. She is drawn to poetry, especially poems that provide new perspectives. Any work that has a turn she didnβt see coming is an immediate favorite, as well as poems with lines so profound they linger in her mind for days. Outside of poetry, she enjoys fantasy novels with rich world-building, or historical fiction novels that expertly blend historical facts with compelling narrative. Regardless of genre, she always appreciates writing that employs identity as a means of authentic representation rather than a plot device.β

Anderson Cooper for president.
So floofy!
Two cats sleeping together on a blue blanket. The orange and white cat is spooning the calico cat. They look very cuddly and adorable.
Happy #caturday from Sunshine and Apple!

Mockup for the cover for my upcoming novel: A Bitten Plant. The title is written in large, plain white letters. Toward the bottom of the book is the subtitle: A Novel, and then my name: Liz Fyne. The background color of the book cover is a dark pink. The art consists of three main parts.1. At the bottom, is an artistically rendered but anatomically correct drawing of the human heart. The arteries at the top branch into a collection of small vessels that fade toward the edges. The heart is colored purple and red. 2. From the top of the heart sprouts what appears to be a tree. The tree is dark green and is contained within a lighter green circle (representing the round planet). 3. Around the edges of the green circle, red and purple flowers sprout from within the tree image.
Cover reveal! I'm incredibly grateful to She Writes Press for designing this stunning cover for my upcoming novel. Forthcoming: Feb 9, 2027.
Cuddly buddies. It wasn't that long ago that Apple was smaller.
Or delusional confidence might also help.

To be fair, I think her life is pretty miserable.
Love me a cup of Joe.
A calico cat is outside in the snow. It's so high, she can't travel well. Behind her is a trail of messy snow. In front of her, the snow is fresh.
So much for the fast getaway...
It's been very rare that I've adopted kittens. Always adult cats already separated from their litter mates. In retrospect, it feels somewhat cruel separating them. We also got a kitten from hoarding situation. His litter mates all died. He's integrated himself with the sisters, but not the same.
This is my first time having siblings. We'd planned to get just one kitten, but how can you separate them?
That's a great window corner!
Sis, let's check out the view.
Hungry snowbirds.
