Just got back from Laracon EU and already excited for Laracon US. Looking forward to seeing so many old and new friends this summer in Boston!

Summary: Users choose AI to explore and synthesize information; but they rely on traditional search when accuracy and trust are critical. Users are increasingly turning to generative AI (genAI) for information-seeking tasks โ but not uniformly. In a recent study, we observed how people chose between AI chatbots and traditional search for real tasks. Users turned to AI when they started with vague ideas, juggled multiple requirements, or combined information from many sources. They used traditional search when they needed accuracy, control, and trusted sources.
interesting implications for marketing
I uploaded some of my past talks to Claude and asked it to analyze them so I can understand, structurally, why they worked. The analysis?

The view from the gym at my hotel in Amsterdam for Laracon EU is just terrible, jeez

Love this. I also feel passionately about this awful quote โ gave a talk tearing it up a few years ago!
One point I add to your points: People wouldnโt have asked for faster horses. Theyโd have asked for horses that pooped less. www.mindtheproduct.com/being-user-m...
anyway, I haven't even packed for Laracon EU yet, and we leave at 9am. and it's almost 11pm.
