Heartbreak at St. James Park tonight in the final touch of the ball. At least it was a very entertaining game, and we’re not down in aggregate going into Camp Nou. #NUFC

Weather station hit 70ºF for the first time this year. Still have at least 18” of snow in the backyard, though.
It’s an all Apple/F1 night here for me and my girls. Finally got around to watching the Apple Original Brad Pitt F1 movie(not half bad), and we’re trying to stay up till 11PM to catch the start of the new era of F1 in Australia. 🏎️
“The War Department will not be distracted by democracy building interventionism, undefined wars, regime change,” U.S. Defense Secretary, December 2025
The Nobel Prize 2026 is just sitting there for the taking I suppose.
Why does anyone believe anything these people have been selling since… ever?
Setting aside AOC for a moment, this article says what I’ve said for a long time. Dems essentially defend a status quo that has failed most of the U.S. since… the 80s? And in turn that leads to the voter just swapping in different parties until something meaningfully improves or they lose democracy.
Do not watch tonight’s State of the Union. Low ratings wound him. Let’s make this the least-watched SotU address ever.
BREAKING: A push to name one of Chicago’s snowplows “Abolish ICE,” clearly linking the humorous pun to efforts to oppose President Donald Trump’s mass deportation effort, won the city’s annual snowplow naming contest, officials announced. @wttw.bsky.social
Strange new world we live in.
Lawsuits are being prepared by corporations to get back tariffs they paid, from the US government. How do the American people get the money we paid to the corps back, when they passed along a percentage of the tariffs to all of us? And the corps are going to lower prices now… right? …Right? 🇺🇸
Yet another sad reminder that there is a two-tiered justice system in America: One for the rich. Another for everyone else.
If elites can be held accountable in other parts of the world, why can't they be held accountable in America?
And of course US political reporters -- & editors & publishers -- would rather *die* than acknowledge straightforwardly that today's GOP is corrupt at a level that is unique in US history, wildly in contrast to Dems. They know it's true, but you couldn't force them to say it at gunpoint.
I don’t know why I like to watch curling. But I do. 🥌
AOC: "Extreme level of wealth inequality leads to social instability and drives authoritarianism, right-wing populism, and really dangerous domestic internal politics. That is a direct outcome of the failure of democracies over decades to deliver."
Happy Birthday, National Weather Service. Here’s hoping you still exist in the future. Here’s the story of how a letter to Congress started the wheels rolling on the NWS.

This video is getting so much attention and it’s hard to explain why a video supposedly about renewable energy is so important to watch, even if you are well-versed… and yet I think you should invest 90 minutes into it. (Perfectly watchable at 1.5x) and share widely.
“Sources” are saying Bill Belichick will not be a first-ballot Hall of Famer.
Bill is a unique curmudgeon. But if the best of all time doesn’t get in on the first ballot, should anyone? This vote is not a popularity contest. If true, this is an embarrassment for the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
“Please get the truth out about our son.”
Read and share the statement from the parents of Alex Pretti, the VA ICU nurse who was shot and killed by border patrol.
Once you read it, you can’t unsee it: what we are seeing in Minnesota is what happens when the Jan 6 criminals are put in charge. These are literally the same people who stormed the Capitol, now with a blank check, weapons, and impunity.
So what you’re saying is “D&D is Business”. Got it.
Assuming you mean Instapaper 😆 I need you to pull the trigger on a month of Premium and test it out for us…
Instapaper just launched AI voices for reading, which I want to use very much, but is (understandably) paid-account-only.
I came to Minneapolis to report on what's going on, and one of the main questions I showed up with is "just what is the scale of the resistance?" After all, we're all used to the news calling Portland a "war zone" or whatever when it's just some protests in one part of town.
I do really love using my Apple Pencil for handwriting on iPad. But one weird thing has always followed me since my first Apple Pencil: a part of the iPad always getting surprisingly hot while I’m writing. Is it just me?
Dr. King’s legacy isn't just about "dreaming." His actual methodology began with SEEING.
He insisted a nation look directly at the "hidden tension" that already existed. "Constructive, nonviolent tension is necessary for growth."
Before we fix, we must see.
Thanks to seeing Hadestown on Broadway this year, I understand this reference.
Reminder:
> “By analyzing $4 trillion of shipments […] researchers found that foreign exporters absorbed only about 4% of the burden of last year’s U.S. tariff increases […] while American consumers and importers absorbed 96%.”

Sign seen at protest in front of the U.S. Embassy in Denmark: “America already has too much ICE”
Let me say this in no uncertain terms, as an American: hands off Greenland! We do not steal from, nor threaten our long term close allies and NATO partners. NATO is the most effective alliance in the history of the world. Let’s not f’ it up. 🇺🇸💙🇩🇰🇬🇱🤝🏻
