For what it's worth, I really quite like the Fish! world. I think it's a rich and charming concept that pushes boundaries of what's possible with VRC.

I think a lot of why people don't like it is because it is, at times, antithetical to the kind of low-friction socializing we come to expect in VRC.

I got quick, but exciting update with the Unity SDK for @resonite.com - avatars now fully import!

They just need to be marked in the Unity Editor with proxies, but once they are, the avatar is immediately usable after sending it.

Just to clarify for the unfamiliar: avatar stations are those sit spots on people's avatars that let you arbitrarily fly around a world. Creators of PvP/game worlds would love to have this as a toggle, but the Fish! world gets it instead, maybe just because it interferes with the shop/boat upsells.

I think the biggest damage to the art community was the obsolescence of gallery sites (y!, deviantart, etc) and the rise of scroll-by social media, like twitter and even tumblr. Art is not ''content'', you shouldnt need to post art every day (or every month!) to be relevant. This mindset sucks.

Hot take: Don't trust games with gen AI in them. It's not just the art theft thing it's also just the fact that it shows they don't care about the quality of the product.
