I took the photo at an altitude of around 2200 m. The area is the Western Alps, specifically the Maritime Alps in the province of Cuneo, near the Sanctuary of Sant'Anna di Vinadio (one of the highest sanctuaries in Europe). The peak in the background is Punta Maladecia (2745 m).
