N.J. just struck a blow against banning books
It's called the "Freedom to Read Act."
New Jersey takes a stand for intellectual freedom by banning book bans in public schools and libraries. A win for diversity, inclusion, and the right to read. π

Today Iβm expressing my immense gratitude for the librarian community. Whatever difficulties you may be facing - book challenges, budget cuts, burnout - no librarian fights alone. Thank you to all librarians - school, public, academic, special - for all you do for your communities. π§‘

Yesterday, I filed two federal lawsuits against a man in New Jersey. He writes patently false things about me and other librarians. These falsehoods are very dangerous. They make me feel unsafe. They make a lot of librarians feel unsafe.
For the librarians. #Invictus

Screenshot of a social media post describing how someone left their laundry at a bus stop in Glen Park. The laundry was found by Good Samaritans who brought it to the Glen Park Library. Another person then returned it to the laundromat where it was originally picked up. The post expresses gratitude to the community and highlights the kindness of strangers.
Libraries are the heart of every community, and stories like this prove it! From lending books to reuniting someone with lost laundry, libraries go above and beyond to support and connect people. Just one more reason to love and support our local libraries! #LibrariesAreEssential
