Thanks Dwayne. I’m really into this “signals” idea right now so expect more writing on it!
"I think what we’re going to need, more than anything else, is human experts who are passionate, beyond all reason, about their disciplines. This has to be true of teachers and students alike."
Indeed. #skolechat #dkforsk
Great insights.
The concept of Metis (aka sailor smarts) is important when we think about differentiation with what AI and humas can each do well.
This makes me think of Horizon scanning as well and the shift from 'prediction' to 'awareness of signals'.
New post: Expert Signals. I've been thinking about what human experts actually do that AI can't, drawing on James C. Scott's distinction between techne and metis. Read more... #ArtificialIntelligence #AIEducation #AIEdu #AIInEd #AIInEdu

New post: GenAI makes it easy for students to skip the struggle, but productive struggle is where real learning happens. The students most likely to over-rely on it have the most to lose. What's the "minimum viable struggle" we need to protect? #ArtificialIntelligence #AIEducation #AIEd #AIInEd

New post: the web is developing a second layer, built for AI agents instead of human browsers. I've started making my site readable for both. The real fight isn't access, it's attribution. #ArtificialIntelligence #AIEducation #AIEdu #AIInEd #AIInEdu

What is MCP and Why Should I Care?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is a standardised way for AI assistants to communicate with external data sources and tools. I spent a weekend building my own MCP servers to connect Claude to my private data, and learned a lot about where this technology is heading.
Today I'm launching two things: a new Open Access eBook and a dedicated website for the Teaching AI Ethics project. Read more on the blog. #ArtificialIntelligence #AIEducation #AIEdu #AIInEd #AIInEdu
In Technology is Actually Pretty Great, Leon Furze argues that the problem isn't technology itself but corporate capture of digital life in education. #ArtificialIntelligence #AIEducation #AIEdu #AIInEd #AIInEdu #Podcast

I also haven’t figured out a way to successfully use the “compare” feature. Worth noting that the public website and verify feature really isn’t fully cooked
Correct, and I should clarify that in the article. Google’s synthID is, if anything, worse.

GenAI in education is a sprawling topic, so each January I try to distill it into a single post: what's changed, what's most important, and what you can actually do with the technology. This is 2026's introduction to GenAI: I'll dig deeper into each section throughout the year. #AI #AIedu #AIEd
