A Jihad by any other name. #FFRF #MRFF
If YOU read the Bible, you would know that Jesus actually encouraged people to hate.
Luke 14:26, for example.
blasphemous painting of Jesus and Donald Trump in bed together with a red baseball MAGA cap on the bedside table
On May 17, Donald Trump is going to lead nationwide federal government religious rituals declaring the USA to be a Christian nation.
Too many American Christians are collaborating with fascism.
Christianity is gaining power but losing respect.
Blasphemy is my response.
Trump is not godless.
He's a lifelong Christian.
What kind of Christian does this? A Christian Nationalist.
Don't blame atheism for a maniac who was voted into office by America's Christians.
No, people in the GOP are not godless slime.
They're Christian slime.
Don't blame atheists for problems created by a political part that the majority of Christians vote for over and over and over again BECAUSE they love its cruelty.
"Godless" should be a complement, not an insult.
Hey, the whole point of right wing Christians being right wing Christians is that they are not godless.
Godless Americans have been voting AGAINST Trump at a rate twice that of Christians.
So how about you stop using the word "godless" as an insult?
You should be thanking us godless Americans.
Jesus in bed with Donald Trump
When I see Christians hop into bed with Donald Trump, it makes me proud to be godless.
MAGA is not godless.
MAGA is Christian Nationalist.
Their obsession with their violent god is the problem.
Atheists have been the most reliable voting bloc against Trump in the last three elections.
"Godless" should not be an insult.
Stop using "godless" as an insult.
It's not.
The world needs more godless people.
It's the people who believe in gods who are causing the most suffering.
The Air Force Academy already had a Christian Nationalism problem...
"Evangelicalism Is the Official Religion of the Air Force Academy" — Freedom From Religion Foundation share.google/P7xmeSnDzeu3...
I'm sorry you went through that. It sucks.
I blame Christianity for giving fascists so much propaganda for hate.
I also note that 60 percent of American Christians voted for Trump in 3 elections in a row, while over 70 percent of non-Christians voted against Trump.
I am fundamentally paying attention to how real WORLD Christians, not pretend abstract Christians, act to cause real harm in the WORLD because of manipulative, narcissistic teachings of Jesus like this.
I live in the world, not on a pretend cloud.
Hating children is sick. Period.
I reject heaven, if heaven tells me to hate my kids.
I love my kids. My kids live in the world. Why would I reject the world?
This is a classic formula used by cult leaders: Separate believers from their families so they become socially isolated and vulnerable.
Certainly not the Bible?!? Have you read it? Actually read it?
It's said that the best way to make a person an atheist is to have them actually READ it, the whole thing, and not just listen to preachers sugar it all up in sermons.
Jesus teaches violence when he threatens entire cities in genocide (Luke 10:14), and with the "cleansing" of the Temple, where he grabs a whip and beats up people until they run away. That's in all 4 gospels. John 2:15 for example. The Book of Revelation, again, of course.
Jesus came to divide - not for peace, Luke 12:49 "Do you think I have come to bring peace to the earth? No, I have come to divide people against each other!"
Torture and genocide: MOST of the Book of Revelation, really. Focus on Chapter 9 for the really awful torture stuff.
Hate your own kids: It's in the graphic above, Luke 14:26
Um, when Jesus says you've got to hate your own kids, I blame Jesus.
When Jesus teaches torture and genocide in Revelation, I blame Jesus.
When Jesus teaches division in the Gospels, and violence, I blame Jesus.
Christian Nationalists learned from Jesus that cruelty is sacred.
My point is this:
Christianity is not a reliable source of morality, because sometimes the Bible is profoundly immoral.
Also, 40% of Americans are not Christians.
We need a secular society that includes everybody, not just Christians.
Jesus should not be the standard for America, folks.
Luke 14:26 Jesus says to hate your kids!
Have you heard the talking point that accuses Christian Nationalists of not following the teachings of Jesus?
Be honest. Some of the teachings of Jesus are profoundly cruel, and even violent. Jesus tortures at the end of the New Testament.
Luke 14:26 Jesus says to hate your kids!
Jesus hates families. Luke 14:26
Unfortunately, the Bible provides plenty of material from Jesus, like the proverb where he compares himself to a king who kills followers who don't please him.
Revelation, "the testimony of Jesus", teaches torture and mass murder.
Luke 14:26 says parents should hate their own kids.
Many of the teachings of Jesus include atrocities.
Read the Book of Revelation, which Christianity teaches is the "testimony of Jesus", and you'll see Jesus, the angels, and God planning to torture and commit mass murder against non-Christians.
Revelation Chapter 9 - Jesus tortures for 5 months.
Luke 14:26 Jesus hates families
Actually, Christian fascists get a lot of their inspiration from the Bible. They LOVE the torture and genocide that Jesus plans in the Book of Revelation. They ADORE it when Jesus whips people in the Temple for disagreeing with him.
Luke 14:26, Jesus says people should hate their own kids.
Teachings of Jesus included hate. Jesus was a narcissistic cult leader.
The problem is that some of the teachings of Jesus were downright toxic, like when he taught that no one can follow him unless they hate their own children. Luke 14:26
Jesus shaming a man for not hating his family. Luke 14:26 Let's be honest. Sometimes Jesus acted like a narcissistic cult leader and taught hate.
Erik, I hate to break it to you, but some of the teachings of Jesus are nasty and violent.
Christian Nationalists take these teachings as inspiration.
Sometimes, Jesus preached hate. Luke 14:26, for example, or Jesus in the Book of Revelation.
Christianity has responsibility for a lot of hate.
A human being who claims to be divine, and then tells me to hate my children, and my parents, and myself, so that I can love him is not trustworthy.
The idea that this preaching of hate is okay because it's religious hate is completely unconvincing.
It's sick and twisted and spreads hate.
