Now you got me wishing for an external VF! Beautiful set
Well, of course, what fool buys a Leica to take photos *with*, not *of*?
I bought it 350β¬ based on very bad pictures on the assumption that it's a prewar Barnack with an Elmar, but just got new pictures confirming that I got a better deal than I had assumed. Fingers crossed the lens isn't fogged to all hells!
I'm super excited - a fully functional 1949 Leica IIIC in a very nice condition with a Summitar f2 is on its way to me.

That's so rad! It was an absolute highlight of this trip, I would love to hear a choir concert there one day.

Btw, the reason why I dropped it was because I used both the wrist strap and the case. Whenever I wanted to take a picture I was fiddling with the case to get it out of the way. Now I'm using only the case and hadnt had this problem since
No, it was in the middle of the summer! I'm glad I stuck it out, because at first a lot of the photos looked like this:
Next, the shutter started firing normally, but still manual mode only. Then the lightmeter needle suddenly "woke up", but I still had to adjust the settings myself. Then 'Auto' came back and finally, recently, after many many rolls, frame counter randomly started working again, so it's fully fixed π
Fun fact about mine: I dropped it and it was completely stuck and then as I tried to use it, it gradually "fixed" itself one feature at a time. At first the shutter was firing when winding, and I was using it like that exclusively on manual, because the meter didn't work either.
Rather large*
Being completely by myself in this rather church - it felt incredibly quiet too

She wanted something small so SLRs were a no-go and (just like me) she is a sucker for aesthetics, so she didn't want an ugly compact. a cheap rangefinder it was
A friend of mine was looking for a cheap good camera to get started and I recommended a Hi-matic partially it was on my mind on account of your posts lately! Minoltas were flying under my radar for a long time

I kinda wish Hanimex cameras didn't suck, because I like how unapologetically "of the era" they are aesthetically
