today's funny moment, i like doorman a lot

Pinto (kangaroo, he/him) and Rocko (squirrel, he/it) pose for a photo at a house party. Pinto pulls Rocko in for a side-hug, letting his heavy gut tightly press up against the smaller squirrel's side; which, in turn, causes a nervous but excited Rocko to start pitching a tent in his pants. Bearing a mischievous smile, Pinto takes advantage of the loud environment and closes in on Rocko's ear to whisper, "Hey, buddy... After your husband here is done taking our picture, whaddaya say we sneak off to the bedroom for a secret party of our own, eh? Just you and I." I've got a feeling we won't be seeing them hang around the party again for... a while.

there is something on my mind

An image of a sculpture I made of a cage-like room occupied by a canine figurine and a ladder. The building and ladder are made out of balsa wood and the base is a square of cardboard. It takes me a long time to process things that I make. I think my opinion on this piece will change the more of these I construct and look at. I've been thinking a lot about homes lately. I'm in the process of moving now. How will I live? How will the place I'm in decide that for me? What abilities of mine are given by a space and which can be taken away? Even in rooms of my imagination, how will I choose my parameters? If a room has to have walls, what spaces will I choose to be inaccessible? These are the questions I'm starting this project with. Hopefully by the end I'll have better questions. Why they're dog houses is another thing I'll hopefully learn. A reason besides the fact that I'm a furry. I've always thought of dog houses as a funny thing. To build a shelter to keep an animal safe while also keeping it away from you. It feels silly and cruel and maybe that's the reason. They're rooms that are outside, sheltered but also exposed. For now I just ask that you bear with me on this point. As I was working on these pieces I found them becoming more and more political. The exact implications I hope I will also learn in time.

Concepts for Doghouses #1

An image of a sculpture that's two cage-like rooms connected by a stairway. In the upper room, there is a plastic fox figurine. The sculpture is small and made of balsa wood sticks and cardboard. Im trying now to slowly give myself a vocabulary for these. First the bars and now stairs. As of now I want the pieces to be variations of the elements im slowly introducing. I also may not write about each of these pieces but I'll definitely write about some of them as i figure things out

A roo with a massive belly is sitting on the floor, looking at their phone. The food delivery is taking forever to arrive, and the roo's really hungry. Their stomach is making gurgling sounds.

This hungry roo thought the food would be here by now…
