It works fine if you stick to the golden path. Have a single AP, don’t have a WiFi 7 AP with MLO, don’t get your security key wrong to cause an auth issue at any point, and have a largely stable link. You could go a long time without hitting of the races or state change issues.
I had to go deeper. Once this stopped the kernel from panicing we ran into a new set of issues with deadlocking in the same driver. Maintaining a set of patches here until upstream takes them or fixes all these bugs in a different way. github.com/zbowling/mt7...
Not sure I solved the underlying issues, but at least it stopped panicking. People complain about this wifi chip a lot, or at least the driver. Also probably not super common for people to use wifi on this.
My new Framework Desktop kept kernel panicking. Submitted my first patch upstream to Linux in a decade to fix an issue with the wifi driver module.
