A calm night. Mall this AM was a bit quieter but then we live in a touristy area and they’ve all been able to go home + no incoming this week. Food court operating normally, supermarkets fully stocked. Looks like the bar next door reopened its terrace.
A quiet day. Passenger planes are taking off from DXB. Been at the beach park with the kids, went to the new smash burger place near us, got Wolves v Liverpool on now. Thank you UAE for keeping us safe 🙏🏻 🇦🇪

Due to my old life I’m in a lot of journalist contact books. Been asked to do talking head nonsense a few times. Tangible disappointment from them - esp the newspaper BlueSky loves - when I haven’t got some horror story. Clear they’re searching for horror narrative. It’s been eye opening🤷♂️

Supermarket was completely restocked today. Can’t say it was anything but a normal Thursday save for the kids doing school via Zoom. They’ve moved school Spring Break to start from Saturday. Very grateful to the UAE for keeping us safe.

If you want to know how the British print news industry ends (which is, de facto, amazingly still what supports most newspaper websites) it's the distribution channels getting banjaxed. When you lose "TG Jones" etc even people who want a paper can't get one. That'll be the real start of the ending.

I get this too, from a New Yorker who either does not learn or doesn’t care. It’s mental how much he’s given me access to over the years, and how easy it would be to cause the guy harm. Tracked him down once out of genuine concern, it went quiet for a few years…then started again.
Good to just get it done innit. Dunno if you’ve ever seen these Water Pik things but they work better than floss and I have to have the minimal of cleaning done now.
