Literally just 36-ish hours ago: I was trying to retrieve the end of a charging cable that had somehow become trapped under the foot of my bed. I grabbed the bedframe, pulled to shift it slightly... and ruptured my biceps tendon in my left elbow.

"Calibri font the latest DEI target as Rubio orders return to Times New Roman"
Could this, perhaps, be a headline from @theonion.com?
Nope: FUCKING ASSOCIATED PRESS
A great benefit of this effort has been to play Pokemon Legends: Arceus for the first time on Switch 2.
I know from my experience with Scarlet that had I played it on Switch 1, I'd've been aggravated by the performance issues.
Playing it now, with how it runs on Switch 2? It's GREAT.
One of the best things I've done for myself over the last several years is break myself of FOMO. I no longer care about playing then newest game, seeing a movie on release, reading a book immediately. It's extremely freeing, and allows me to look at my media in a whole different light.

PSP what now?!?
How can I be a big enough PSP fan that I still have - and play - my PSP Go, and not have ever heard of this?
Why can FIFA be the most corrupt sports organization on the planet, sucking up to dictators and authoritarians for another few billion bucks?
Because no one will just... not watch.
I think this is going to be the first World Cup in a couple decades I just won't watch.
It's a little hilarious to see people talking about how ugly and awful and dystopian the whole thing is... only to then start talking about the draws and what games they're interested in.

It's obviously not, but ever time I scroll past that pic in my feed, I think it's Liev Schreiber.
Pokemon Sword/Shield are the best Pokemon games of the Switch generation so far. I feel confident in that opinion.
(With the caveat that I haven't played Legends Z-A yet.)
My foray back into Pokemon Scarlet has even gotten me to go back to Pokemon Shield.
Apparently I completed the main Pokedex, but never finished Isle of Armor and Crown Tundra.
Well, I'm 'bout to rectify that problem!
If you can't see the rice in a rice bowl, that's just a perfectly constructed rice bowl, and that person has never experienced the glory of the One True Rice Bowl
I think more people need to embrace the "irreconcilable" part and just part ways with people. If someone doesn't respect your opinions or humanity, they're not really "family" anymore.
Sometimes found family is closer and more life-affirming than anyone you share blood with.
We just got our shuttlepod in the mail, but we're still waiting for the full Enterprise.
This is like when your parents give you batteries for Christmas as a prelude to the Game Boy you'll open up later. π
Nice! Thank you so much!
OOOOOH....
Is there any chance you have a recipe you'd be willing to share? I love pierogi, but it's one of the dumplings I've never made myself.
I wasn't ever planning to revisit them, but I started playing Pokemon Emerald - which I've never finished - on my Trimui Brick and it took over my life, so now I'm falling head first back into Pokemon writ large. Even started up Legends: Arceus, finally.
Booting up Pokemon Scarlet on Switch 2 has gotten me fully hooked back in.
Granted, it still doesn't LOOK good, but it RUNS *perfectly*. Solid 60fps, solid draw distance, faraway NPCs don't move at 4fps.
I never completed my Pokedex because of how horribly it ran. I'm back at it like a bad habit.

I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving weekend! I'm logging out until at least Monday.
Be good to each other.
But don't put up with any bullshit.
If continuing to use a product while it's still quite functional and not succumbing to the hype cycle of manufacturers telling you what you need every year is "costing [the] economy", then maybe economies were a mistake.
Yeah. None of the others come as a surprise, but I'm hoping they find a way to keep Rothrock around.
Ugh, not Rothrock! Not surprised by any of the others. Frei and Joao Paulo are, frankly, nearing the ends of their careers, so those come as no shock. Honestly don't know much about bell.
But Rothrock has been a very important part of the team, so I hope they're still able to retain him.
I actually had a dealership not-so-politely ask me to leave after I finally asked them, in earshot of other negotiations, what their dealer holdback was and why they couldn't cut into it to give me a better price.
