The school library never had much horror. The Hobbit was about the most fantasy thing it had as well. A group of us had been ploughing through the Dragonlance books and I was about to discover some bloke called Lovecraft when I got a Saturday job in a bookshop.
Sounds about right. I was reading random horror books in the 90s on my mums library ticket.

I bought it years ago as miller is one of my favourite artists. It’s set in the post apocalyptic wasteland after the 3rd book and the ending is…
… a thing.
I should read them at some point. Pretty sure I read the first one years ago and one set in a bunker.
I’ve never been a big Herbert fan TBH but I dip in now and then. I remember watching the film version of Haunted years ago but didn’t twig this is a follow up. I’ve got the Ian miller/herbert 4th rats book. The graphic novel. Bloody weird.
I’m on holiday at the moment so lots of books at the moment. Just finished Ghosts of Sleath without knowing it was a sequel. On to comfort reading next. The burrowers beneath was an entry to the Mythos for me. Not a big fan at f the later books but BB can be injected into my veins.
I sat in the cellar and ground up some bone
The smoke was quite thick, but I was not alone
I poured out the saltes as I called out the rhyme
For the spirit of yore, that sits outside of time
It would be world ending.
It’s a little bit creepy, this feeling inside
I’m not one of those who can easily hide
I don’t have much gold but if I did,
I’d buy a big tome from Abdul Alhazred
(Elton John can’t hold a candle to my wind.)
You need one in each foot. Plus one clenched twixt your butt cheeks.
Loose swords sink ships
The front plate on this was done that way. The beetle I did a while back had similar abuse on it.
A sword in the hand is worth two in the guy you’ve just stabbed.
Added armor panels, camera/sensors and a roof mounted weapon to the vehicle. Will add armor panels to the sides (where the gorilla face is). The windshield front and sides will be painted over, so it looks like armor.
The Hot Wheels Phantom Racer (2005 Gorilla Attack Playset) is the base I'm using for this conversion.
First time I'm using plasticard and it's really fun to work with. The concept here are drone cars from Mishkin for the #Gaslands Death Race Demo. I'm building what I think of as cyberpunk armor panels and will add more on the sides. There are two cameras/sensors mounted on the front of the vehicle.
Do you have a rotary tool? Like a dremel or similar? If you use one with drum sanders, you can scuff up plasticard to look like dents or scrapes. You can use a knife as well but I like the randomness of the drum.
The egg is mightier than the sword?
Yes. You clearly understand basic principles of life.
Is the correct answer. Any why I somehow keep ending up with more.
Do they though? I’m a “more swords” kind of guy.
Only three? amateur.
Not for going to the toilet.
In that there York place. The @merchantshallyork.org is looking suitably moody this evening.
a green skinned goblin stands on a worn and weathered candleholder among a collection of old books. A big burning red candle sits on the goblins head, positioned like some sort of giant top hat. The goblin holds a burnt match in place of a spear. A smattering of red wax adorns the candleholder and an open box of redhead matches can be seen behind the goblin.

Chicken1: A small painted chicken miniature in front of a backdrop of green hills; we can see the left side of the mini. The chicken has a green plastic base, painted to look like grass, yellow feet and a yellow beak, brownish-red plumage, and bright red combs. The chicken is looking balefully at you with a magical left eye, painted a whitish-purple like Magnus.
Chicken2: A front view of the same miniature. Magnus the Rhode Island Red is looking directly at the camera
Chicken4: Rear view of the chicken. You can really see the tail feathers.
Chicken3: A right-side view of the same chicken. It looks pretty much the same as the left view, except that this side has a normal black eye.

My daughter’s boyfriend is doing a charity MMA fight in a few months. I tried training him but it turns out he can’t use a sword.
Please share and donate if you can as it’s all for chaarrrittyy mate.

I have so much cool artwork but the missus doesn't see it the same way, which is why most of it is on the walls in the cellar. I swear the frames are the only thing holding the house up at this point.
I should have bought one a LONG time ago. Need to find some space on the dungeon walls now.
And lo, did artwork of @thisnorthernboy.bsky.social appear on the same day.
