onexplayer super x! felt a little risky not buying locally, but it has pretty much everything i need specs wise and it’s been working great.

fwiw the strix halo chip in that thing is not unlike the apple silicon chips, so the overall experience of using the machine should feel comparable

to be fair to apple: it's kind of miraculous that the macbook pro still works. that thing runs at 90 degrees celsius half of the time for no good reason. the other half is like.. 70 degrees. had the battery replaced once though

so i have always been an apple boy, but i'm kinda done with big tech. my i9 macbook pro from 2018 (toasty ass machine) was in dire need of replacement, so i got myself a new laptop to run linux on. and let me tell you: it is kinda nuts how much more smooth and snappy linux feels compared to win11.
