Both Joan and Eleanor present themselves in very disingenuous ways, but my readers have been really good so far so I trust them to see through what I want them to see through. Maybe with a bigger audience I’d start worrying lol
"friends with benefits," "enemies with benefits," "coworkers with benefits" blah blah blah. really what I like is foils with benefits. foils to lovers. mirror images reflecting what could have been and still could be and fucking nasty about it.

I remember learning about the Hays Code in film school and how it made it so that any amoral protagonist had to meet karmic justice by the end of the film and going “wow, that’s really silly” and then once a week I log online and see people argue that we need stuff like that now or it’s problematic

don't even get me started on mental illness !!! the way it's treated as a serious topic with hawkeye but a joke with frank is a big hit to the themes they're trying to convey in my opinion
Thank you!! Frank really gets flattened out over time and it kills me. In the beginning the writers treat him pretty much like any other character, he just happens to be wrong all the time (which I like <3). But later he's so flanderized that I don't think the writers were even trying anymore

I really struggled with this triangle composition but I think it came out well in the end! I kind of used my trusty rule of thirds, but I didn’t lean on it as heavily as usual so I got scared.
