It should be a much bigger story that oil prices surged because of Trump’s illegal war in Iran, forcing the White House to ease sanctions on Russian oil—only for Russia to take that money and help Iran target American troops.
Jobs are down, gas prices are up, wages are depressed, and we’re in the middle of another illegal war. Trump is just like every other Republican president.
Noam was a fucking disaster, but Markwayne Mullin isn’t going to be any better. He’s the same type of show horse that Trump loves to elevate. His problem is he doesn’t have enough qualified people in place to actually enact his agenda—just a bunch of sycophants that he thinks look good on TV.

One other thought on Texas: don’t ignore the other states where Democrats have a real shot at flipping a red seat. Ohio, Alaska, and Iowa are far more competitive than people are talking about. Texas is sucking up all the attention for obvious reasons, but don’t overlook those races.
Texas is starting to feel like the perfect storm. Talarico is a strong candidate. Crockett and the rest of the party are lining up behind him after a tough primary. Republicans are in disarray and still likely to nominate Paxton. Everything that needed to happen to turn Texas blue is happening.
Hillary Clinton was asked whether Trump should testify before the House committee. Her answer was a reminder: it’s laughable to think Comer, Boebert, or Mace were ever capable of squaring up with her.
That said, if you hold power in this country, you should testify before Congress. No exceptions.
