Khalid's 2000 days in pre-trial detention represent the erosion of India's justice system and the attempts of Modi's gov to stifle dissent.

❗When Modi says India stands with Israel “with full conviction,” he confirms their partnership in occupation, land theft, and genocide.
This is how Imperialism operates and destroys oppressed countries and nations. Land is taken, surveillance expands, and force becomes the primary language of governance. Corporations benefit by controlling populations through militarisation and surveillance, strengthened by military and trade deals.
A forensic investigation by Amnesty International and The Washington Post had also shown the use of the Israeli Pegasus spyware to surveil Indian journalists, activists and lawyers.

Settle colonial tactics of Israel have also been replicated by the Indian State in Kashmir, where Article 370 of the Indian Constitution was revoked, and property laws rewritten to enable land acquisition by Non-Kashmiris (www.aljazeera.com/amp/features...)
❗India is importing not just arms, but tactics of repression.
Bulldozer demolitions across India follow the same model of Israel’s collective punishment. Homes, mostly of Muslims, are destroyed without due process. This mirrors Israel’s punitive home demolitions in Palestine.
In Bastar, Heron drones supplied by Elbit Systems have been used in counterinsurgency, targeting mineral-rich Adivasi lands. Adani jointly manufactures Hermes 900 drones with Elbit systems for Israel’s genocide in Gaza, in return for facilitating corporate plunder in India(scroll.in/article/1048...)
India imports Israeli drones, surveillance systems, and missile tech, making it the world's largest buyer of Israeli arms. The two countries established joint ventures like the Adani Group–Elbit Systems partnership, which manufactures drones in India for military use. (newint.org/arms/2025/pa...)
❗On 25 Feb 2026,PM @narendra-modi.bsky.social addressed the Knesset and declared that India stands with Israel “with full conviction.” This was not state diplomacy, but an endorsement of a state built on occupation, siege, genocide and the systematic theft of Palestinian land.

Dear @narendra-modi.bsky.social can you explain why the spokesperson of the alleged “largest” and “richest” political party (BJP) of “the mother of democracy” met with a holocaust denier Mr. Grzegorz Braun at the European Parliament?
Did you think what happens in Parliament remains in Parliament?
❗ We (DAHRD), and @hrf.org, alongside an international coalition of Human Rights organisations, urge the international community to call for the immediate release of Umar Khalid.

❗And it’s not just France. The European Union, with its new EU–India trade agreement, also seems to be prioritising strategic and economic cooperation over human rights.
So, if human rights are truly a “shared value” between EU and India, should not they be visible in action, not just words?
❗When questioned about the violations of human rights and deterioration of democracy under the Modi government, the Elysée avoids the issue. ‘We speak with one voice with India. We make clear the importance that France attaches to pluralism and respect for rights,’ they told the media.
Speaking on a radio programme, geopolitical journalist Pierre Hasky described Modi's political drift, as "authoritarian and Hindu nationalist", which "contrast sharply with India's image as ‘the world's largest democracy’".
Another major French daily, Libération, noted that “the issue of human rights was conspicuously absent from this visit,” highlighting a crackdown on minority rights, particularly Muslims, who are systematically targeted by the Modi government.
French MP Thomas Portes stated: “Emmanuel Macron's international policy disregards human rights, repressive laws and the massacre of minorities.”, adding that Modi pursues “an identity-based and nationalist policy” widely documented by NGOs.
As reported by Mediapart, the programme made “no mention of human rights and the protection of minorities,” despite repression of opposition groups and visible democratic backsliding in India.
