Yes, and this is awesome. Now I just hope we actually follow up with action for the midterms. Because even an unpopular president with Trump's proclivity to insanity and venality wields enough power to make life miserable.
Why not both? Unless orders of magnitude count in some way.
Sometimes you really need instructions issued with serial commas and footnotes and not just exclamation points.
I am actually about to start. Thank you for the encouragement.
I do business continuity. Trust me I know this on a visceral level for everything from the manufacture of cupcakes to the tech platforms we all use.
And has an inception kernel that could no longer be created because either the knowledge to create it is gone or the tool used is obsolete.
We all live in a state of rubber bands, duct tape, and chewing gum and we don't even realize it.
I have no regrets.
That's probably better than my approach to just walk away as they are mid-spiel.
Absolutely best on-point meme ever. Kudos to you, sir, from someone who comes from endless generations of working women.
This is patently untrue. GenX. Both of my grandmothers worked as did every female family member I can name. Nurses, bank tellers, teachers, secretaries. Previous generations were farmers - which is hard work for the entire family. This fable has to stop.
Yes, publishing is a hard business. Yes, I am screaming into the void.
How many indie publishers are carrying books that do not sell? How many books are just out there in digital purgatory with no sales and all the back-of-house work? Especially in non-fiction, which is what I mostly publish. What is the opportunity cost in an already stretched budget?
It takes approx 60 hours per year to do reporting, keep up with metadata, issue even scant royalties, keep your listings updated, etc. for every book. In the digital age we really need to understand that "out of print" should still be a thing.
And this is so important: publishers cannot market your work the way you market your work. That's just not how it works. YOU, yes YOU, have to support and promote your book. Your reach as an author will always be greater than the publisher - even for big traditional publishers.
You can change your mind about a work. You can change your mind about your message. You can change your mind about who you want to be. It's okay! But, your publisher holds all the costs to support the book.
If you are no longer actively supporting your work and it's not selling after a few years your publisher still carries costs.
I read once that Michelangelo was asked to make the Sistine Chapel more βappropriateβ (church objected to the nudity) & he answered βsimply make the world a suitable place & painting will soon follow suit.β
Sign from a road crossing in Ireland. The top sign describes that large vehicles and herd of animals must call before crossing. An additional sign on the bottom has extensive definitions of what large means. The signs are white with a red border and the top of the sign has two red lights.
You have to wonder what circumstances required the addition of the bottom sign that defines what "large" means. And did it have an intersecting point with Herds of Animals? I would very much like to see what the script is for the person answering the phone.
You fought off a pack of dogs to protect your dog?
Bare trees are dark lines against a cold blue sky. In the distance, an orange smudged line from the sunsetting. In the bottom left, a rusted tin porch roof is visible. Other houses are visible around the sides of the image.
Trees form veins against a cold sky. In the distance, the Atlanta skyline. In the foreground, a perfectly rusted tin roof.
My form at halos must absolutely suck because I don't think you're supposed to cut off your music every other rotation by hitting your ear bud with the fat of your inner arm.
Just me?
So Philip Glass just joined TikTok. He only has like 4 posts and theyβre simply him in what I assume is his living room playing the piano. First comment on one I saw was βyour piano is too close to the fireplace, youβll dry it outβ and if thatβs not the internet in a nutshell I donβt know what is.
Just went to YDFM (if you know you know) (it's a massive farmer's market) and I very nearly shuddered at the giant pile of green beans.
I used to like green beans.
But nearly every Factor meal has green beans and after 10 months of no kitchen i just -
can't green bean no more.

Pothole full of petals
Also, sorry for jumping in. I'm really passionate about how women put themselves into the world as authors. How we claim our authority and own multi-dimensional lives.
You're about to have more than one book. You get to claim "Books" as a main nav item. And that should go to a page with both of your books listed and then each book needs a page with the cover and ordering information. You're a public intellect & an interesting person outside of your academic role.
I totally get it as a former academic - but your cover has some great colors and art that is in alignment with physics. It has an op-art feel that bridges between the two. And "Books" should be a top menu nav item with a hero for your new release as part of the home page slider.
Lord, I really did mean callus.
