Kids can get their names changed on the official roster, and that helps prevent mistakes, but a lot of people are garbage with pronouns so it hasn't been the most trans-inclusive place even though there are a lot of trans students. We all deserve better imo
I love that. I'm glad they have a supportive dad. I've been feeling kinda down lately about people at work who still persistently call me by a name I no longer go by. But I'm trying not to dwell on the negativity because there are so many people who support and celebrate me, including my dad!

You're probably thinking he has a disability or a medical condition or a family responsibility that prevents him from coming to school. He doesn't. He's in school every day and not attending my class because he believed he would be allowed to do that and I would accommodate him.
I have told him he can come at lunch and after school to get extra help, but that's not a replacement for attending the class, so he will need to attend one day first. He says, "Well you really don't teach anything during your class." I said, "How would you know?"
Being asked to accommodate kids who don't go to class because administrators want to inflate grades to make school data look better than it is is ass. I told a kid I would not teach him at any other time than the class when he is scheduled to have me and now I'm "holding him back."
