Spent the day figuring out how to create macOS "web apps" from the command line (like old-school Fluid site-specific browsers, SSBs - accessed via the "Add to Dock" button in Safari.)
Here, have my shat-out half-AI-written script for this, since I couldn't find anybody else having done this [β¦]
Also, here, have some Dog.
Okay, it's a few years old now; but this is *such* a fantastic deep-dive into reng on macOS - I'm shocked how deep @alinpanaitiu went, but more importantly, shocked how thoroughly he documented the process.
What a classy fuckin' dude. Excellent read [β¦]

So, this summer, I moved back down into the city proper.
Anybody in #Chicago know any good #LoganSquare accounts to follow? (also if you're around the area, poke me and let's get coffee! I need new local friends!)
@bram hey there; just sent you an e-mail about Notion.cafe, when you've got a sec. Unsure if it fell through the cracks or something!

@ivory also, just reiterating my two *biggest* issues, for whatever it's worth - I think I've reached out about both before, but just incase I haven't:

@ivory one for the feature-requests: I'd love to see a 'jump to' hotkey with fuzzy-search, ala βP in VScode / Notion, βK in Discord / Beeper / Spotify / Slack,

Also, feel free to poke me w/ any games I should add, here on Masto. I'm happy to add anybody who games on a custom layout to the group, if you want to be able to help me add notes for games that are types I don't personally play. <3
Unsure if I've even mentioned this anywhere before,
but I've maintain a "Steam Curator" page for the last few years, keeping a log of how well games handle custom keyboard layouts - feel free to follow it if you want to see a note on Steam Store pages telling you whether a game's keybind [β¦]

one of my stupider pet-peeves:
"what's the meta"
not all strategy is *meta-game* strategy. "the meta" is only *possible* in a multiplayer game, where the balance of the characters is being continuously tweaked by upstream developers.

@SwooshyCueb "lumbar puncture" always sounded so low-key horny to me, somehow

Meanwhile, the Dell UltraSharp U2723QE (choosing a generic 27" 4K monitor somewhat at random) works out to ~47Β° of visual arc & ~81 px/deg - a significant (~30%) reduction in resolvability.
(Distance-from-eye measured according to my own personal usage, so there's a bit of a spoiler there; these values could just be correlated by me subconsciously reacting to my own tastes. However, there's only so much adjustment in the "laptop on lap" form-factor; and similarly, my displays are [β¦]
Fascinating.
I just ran the math; and Apple's displays/devices have almost *precisely* the same "pixels-per-degree-of-visual-arc" (a much more important measurement than raw PPI.)
- Pro Display XDR (at 70cm) is ~53Β° of visual arc; that gives it ~112 px/deg
- M1 Macbook Pro at 61cm is ~31Β° of [β¦]
