Further to my rant about perimenopause and menopause last weekend, for those folks entering or within its hellish embrace, I have found this book to be a brilliant resource. Written by a nonbinary person, it's really trans inclusive and avoids heavily gendered terms wherever possible.

One thing we absolutely MUST demand from the Green and Liberal Democrat parties is trans-led inquiries. No more cis people checking the work of cis people. Trans people need to be empowered to directly punish our oppressors.

For me as well it was a mystery why I didn’t connect with gay culture AT ALL & that was because I was a young woman - gay men were SO far from what I was looking for.

Streeting is a massive, active bigot. He's been spoken to by the parents of trans kids who killed themselves because of this and he doesn't give a tiny shit about it and just goes harder. We need fewer MPs like @jamesasser.bsky.social mouthing excuses for their bigoted horror of a party.

but also this is letting them set the frame of the discussion

we end up talking about harm and regret

and not the abuse of the system

I mean the real issue is that bodily autonomy is a threat to the abuse and control model of government, society and capitalism

but they can't articulate that but that IS what they are scared of
