Love the expanse, I'll have to try and find killjoys
Tbh I didn't look up Anthony's stance at first after seeing this, so I regret the error I guess
Anthony Whisenhunt Anthony Whisenhunt is a Malden beekeeper who was convicted twice of first-degree child molestation when he was a teenager, and more recently convicted of more than a dozen charges of animal cruelty stemming from 2011 and 2016 cases. His social media presence primarily consists of criticizing President Donald Trump and posting lascivious responses to adult content creators on Twitter. He filed with the Federal Elections Commission in November to run as a Democrat
Technically there's a second candidate who according to his social media is in favor of abolishing ICE bit holy shit ya'll. There are a couple issues to say the least.

I checked the website of everyone who has registered with the FEC, and if there wasn't a clear statement on their website I looked for statements on social media. So by no means exhaustive. Welcome corrections and additions. I'd love to have more to choose from.
Here's the source on the one candidate I've found willing to say ICE is a sick organization that needs to be abolished
Some of the statements I found are pretty old and not like on their issues page or whatever so positions may have changed. I hope they have, and if not there is still time to demonstrate a capacity for growth
As far as I can tell of the people running for the 5th CD, only one of them is in favor of abolishing (and in this case prosecuting) ICE agents. The rest are all somewhere on the "guardrails and training" spectrum. The status quo was never acceptable. This is a deal breaker for me in the primary

Genuinely dangerous people on so many levels
A wallet is held open by two hands, three moths are flying out of it
After patting down my pockets looking for my principles: "Uh... the war is bad because it's expensive!"
Remember this image every time someone tells you that protesters are "hurting their cause."
Those people are the red bars. In 40 years, we'll look back at them the same way.
In the months leading up to the US's Feb. 28 attacks on Iran, Matt was crisscrossing the country laying ground for it among Christian communities, telling them they must support Donald Trump.
www.rangemedia.co/resurrecting...
TLDR of that last thread, bombing civilians (especially children) and desalination plants are wrong and would be wrong even if it lead to cheaper gas or regime change in Iran. We need to hold the people responsible for it accountable.
For many years, Matt Shea has asserted that communists and Muslims in the US were in an unholy alliance to vanquish Christianity from the West. In recent months, he took that line on tour across the US and laid the groundwork for Christian support for war with Iran.
I'm glad that the senator is communicating with folks on here, I'm glad he is opposing the war. We need our leaders to go farther than that. The status quo was never acceptable in just about any part of our domestic or foreign policy
I'd ask though, if you're not going to lean into opposing this war for moral as well as strategic reasons on bluesky, where else are you going to do it? We need to acknowledge, confront and abondon US imperialism. The problem with killing children is not that it leads to higher gas prices.
It really seems that the Senator is not opposed to bombing Iran with the goal of regime change, he seems to primarily be upset that it is being done incompetently. Again I'm not a journalist and maybe there are other statements he's made in other places.
Screenshot of search results for the word school from Senator Murphy. One result about the bombing of the girls school. Again an embedded CNN clip and text that reads "Trump and his national security team have learned nothing from our prior mistakes in the Middle East. Bombing a school (a incompetent mistake) and a desalinization plant (probably not a mistake) is just going to empower Iran's hardline leadership and dangerous terrorist groups."
Closest thing to the acknowledgement of the murder of Iranian civilians I found was this post: I don't disagree that killing Iranian children will empower hardliners in Iranian leadership. Even if this wasn't the case it shouldn't be the main reason you oppose it.
A bluesky search results screen, text reads "No results found for "casualties from:chrismurphyct.bsky.social"
A bluesky search results screen, text reads "No results found for "civilian from:chrismurphyct.bsky.social"
A bluesky search results screen, one result for the words "iranian people" when searching Senator Murphy's posts. Post is a video of him on CNN text reads:" The incompetence of the Iran War rollout is just stunning. Rubio says "Israel dragged us into this war we had no choice!" Trump says "I dragged us into.this war! Regime change! Iranian people, rise up!" Just bonkers"
No results for the words casualties or civilian, let alone together, one result for the words Iranian people and its a quote from Trump.
So I spent 10 minutes (again not a journalist) searching through the Senator's posts incase he had addressed the human costs of this war of aggression in other posts. As far as I can tell he has not.
The economic costs of this war are massive but even there, the reason those economic costs matter is because of the effect on human lives. Eg lack of fertilizer moving through the straight leading to food shortages, leading to starvation and death.
OK I read this thread and the last explainer thread Senator Murphy wrote about the US/Israeli war on Iran and I'm frustrated that there are no mentions of civilian casualties anywhere in them. I thought maybe i wasn't being fair so i wrote a thing. (and maybe im still not, im not a journalist)🧵
Israelis hold small protest against war on Iran About 200 people have gathered in Tel Aviv’s Habima Square to demonstrate against the US-Israeli war on Iran “Protesters are chanting slogans such as ‘You cannot build democracy on the bodies of schoolgirls’ and ‘Pilots, stop the bombings'”, according to a video shared on social media by Arab-Israeli journalist Yanal Jabarin.

Always stand with the people protesting their own government's war
This sucks, I think it just leaves the x files reboot in terms of reboots I'm excited about.
Straight of Hormuz, with Buddha imposed, text: The realization that the lack of oil isn't causing your suffering, but the desire for oil itself, on your path to enlightenment.
Possible solution to the Strait of Hormuz?
parody illustration i made from an existing meme. Star Trek Deep Space Nine. Sisko is screaming, "YOU BETRAYED YOUR UNIFORM!" Below is Beeker, from The Muppets. He replies, "Meep meep MEEP!"
was in a silly mood last night, so, I drew this meme. ... weed was a factor. 😄🖖🏻
Can you imagine having to participate in a 3hr virtual court hearing while in active labor?
It happened in "Florida, a state that has pushed to expand medical freedom for those who wish to avoid vaccines or fluoridated water, while constricting the rights of people in various stages of pregnancy."
I’m begging leftist non-Jews to put antisemitism on your radar.
It still exists, it didn’t go away just because the term has been weaponized against antizionists.
It will get worse over the next few years, and you’re not immune to accidentally falling into it.
Seriously though
