New blog post: A Practical Guide to Data Standards for Seamless Collaboration and Integrity β‘οΈ
Here are the simple standards that keep things predictable π
agustinusnathaniel.com/blog/data-st...
This covers all use casesβopen sharing, selective sharing, or high privacyβwithout forcing users to micromanage every new contact. WhatsApp, take notes! Telegramβs had this figured out for years.
#UXDesign #WhatsApp #Telegram #Privacy
Telegram nails it with a flexible, user-first design. It lets you:
1. Share with everyone, but add exceptions for whoβs blocked.
2. Share only with contacts, with options to block specific people or always allow others.
3. Hide from everyone, but allow select trusted contacts.
[UX Critic] WhatsApp privacy controls for profile pictures are outdated and clunky. Defaulting to a βblock listβ (selecting who canβt see your picture) is riskyβif you add a new contact and forget to update the list, theyβll see it by default. This approach feels backward.

Should I upgrade now?

Professionals can deal with problems too complex for hobbyists like optimizing for performance, scale, conversion, redoing the whole thing better etc
They can understand and take complexity and use tools built for professionals. Like they do now, already:
