I am reminded that a startling number of people believe that if you’re a member of the military and you don’t like something your government did, you can just throw up your hands and quit the next day like any other job.

It Does Not Work That Way

All I know is that Past Me is a lazy screwup whose job apparently involves ruining everything for Present Me.

This leaves Present Me without the time or energy to help Future Me. But that's ok. What's Future Me ever done for anyone anyway?

I might suggest a lot of people would not buy the discs even if they were $15 at a Big Lots. Too many households have Netflix.

However, film nerds (as you pointed out) and hard-core fans, will hunt it down and buy them like like $50 (or $25) candy.

Their discs are available online and they regularly have 50% sales. Just FYI.

I've watched my fair share of 70s films and will need a break before I climb back into the bleak, graffiti-covered landscape. My #lastfourwatched is always about the movies I haven't seen, so next time will probably hit my other classic blind spots like Don't Look Now (1973) and Shampoo (1975).

It wasn't really a criticism. More of a theme I've found in most of the movies during that weird, bleak time.

And I *love* Blue Eye Samurai. I'm poised with the remote, waiting for Season 2.

I attended a free screening of Smokin' Aces (2006) when I was deployed to Iraq. I laughed exactly twice and -- two decades later -- am still annoyed that I watched that hyper wreck of a film.

Do you now how bad a movie has to be to be considered a waste of time during a deployment?

You may laugh, but the Macbeths are a much better role model for a marriage than Romeo and Juliet. They discuss their problems (killing the king of Scotland), share their hobbies (killing the king of Scotland), and resolve their conflicts (by killing the king of Scotland).

The People's Joker (2022) is a deliberately surreal mess that becomes a heartfelt story of acceptance. This movie deserves your attention, even if you're anti-anti-comedy.

The Killer Elite (1975) deserves to be forgotten.

Please listen to every Californian telling you Gavin Newsom is a terrible choice and you should not anoint him the Democratic nominee for 2028.

The only thing Gavin Newsom actually cares about is Gavin Newsom. He will sacrifice anyone and anything you care about for his political ambitions.
