Firefly returning in 2026 feels like a real monkey paw situation. Still got a soft spot for that show, but damn.. so many reasons to let it lie.
So hey I realise I never said so publicly, but I'm not at GDC for many of the obvious reasons.
But I want to highlight that by killing off the summits, the longest serving game AI community space is gone.

Insightful game criticism as always
Super fuzzy ‘intuitively it feels like the wrong neighbour is selected’.. which is an easy fix on fixed controls, but when things get dynamic and interestingly laid out… gets interesting :)
I would love some exposed options, and dare I dream of a solution that doesn’t lock in only four directions?
I love Godot. I do not love its default focus neighbour picking (I also feel this is probably not a universally solveable issue with defaults.. I just wish I hadn’t picked something so… specific.. as a first project in the engine)

My schedule (especially in the ‘calls to LA every evening’ era) basically knocked me out of any kind of recurrent multiplayer with mates years ago.
My PS5 is a single player AAA console and ok group chat platform at this point. And I dig it.
