That's fair enough! I'm enjoying it because it's a very low pressure platform. A lot of social media sites value image/video based posts and it's nice to take a break from it. I've met some really wonderful people there so far, so even if it doesn't last long I don't think I'll regret it.

Metal heads are so unbelievably kind. Last month, I was looking at the table for merch for a death metal band and the guitarist asked if I wanted anything. He said if I didn't have the money he'd get me something on him. The band gave me a shirt for free and refused to let me give them a donation.

They probably just rebranded.

If you can, try approaching them with a friend maybe? I sometimes accompany socially anxious friends to collabs or events, even sometimes getting them to become friends with some of the people they meet.

I understand mustering up the courage can be nerve wracking, but again take it slow. If you need to, do deep breathes or other calming exercises. Remember that there a lot of kind people out there, you just need to find them first. (2/2)

Tbh, I try to take things slowly if I can. Just mustering up confidence can be a lot but sometimes you really need to put your foot in the door. Once you send that first message it feels relieving. In fact, I've noticed a lot of people I think are cool are actually afraid to reach out too! (1/2)
