The Employment Rights Act means some changes to what unions need to know when a member joins. Here's what you need to do get started:

Future Conservative or Reform governments would immediately dismantle these new rights. Millions, particularly in smaller workplaces in the private sector, would benefit from a union. It won't be easy to do it, but the ERA makes it significantly easier. No time to lose.
The new law is also a huge opportunity for unions to modernise. It includes new rights of workplace access, including digitally, and makes online balloting legal for the first time too. Unions should hear it as a strong signal to improve their digital member experience and sort out their data.
The Employment Rights Bill is now the Employment Rights Act. There are lots of good things for workers in it, as well as many that will help them get access to unions, which will help them win further improvements in future.

Joining the union needs to be simple. And it needs to stay simple even when you're waiting at a bus stop in the rain, pissed off with the way your work is going and ready in the moment to make a change.
We think of joining a union as a big decision about your work, and people will get past the odd UX problem. But think about how much personal admin you put off because you can't do it in the 10 mins you had at the time on your phone. Half the time you never get around to it.
Great work by the @jointogether.online team and NEU. A laser like focus on user experience (UX) is critical if we're going to recruit and retain members to unions and grow our movement.
