Today at work there was an assembly. An older man came in and sang with the kids. That was fun. And then he then weird prop comedy and did some puppetry. He definitely lost the kids (and me) for a second there. He ended on a song luckily.

Also, happy to report that I slept pretty well the past two nights. If I sleep badly on Sunday night then I will know that the anxiety before bed is actually in fact work related.

It's the end of February and he probably wanted to fill his quota for the month. But he should be happy to know that I immediately went to Auto Zone got a new light so I didn't get pulled over again.

Anyway, the cop let me go with a warning (he also took my picture??). He asked if I had any interactions with law enforcement before. I was like no this is my first time. He must have seen that I was sweating. Sir, I was sweating because it's hot and my air conditioning doesn't work.

This past Thursday I got pulled over. I've had my driver's license for like 10-11 years and never been pulled over. I knew that I didn't do anything wrong. Also, I'm incredibly white so I knew that I would probably be let go with a warning. My back left brake light was out. Who knew? I didn't.

Got a new student. His name is Keanu like Keanu Reeves. I told this to one of my co workers and she was like, "Who?" That's pretty wild.

Also, he is her English teacher (as a child of teachers this makes me cringe). So she mentions some writing assignments. They are also cliche and not really standards based (I checked common core and Alaska writing standards). I wrote similar stuff in middle school.

So yeah overall it was alright.

I read Jennette McCurdy's new book. It was fine. The way she describes Waldo's obsessions and compulsions is great. The way she describes Waldo's relationship with her mom is great. Everything else is meh. The relationship with Mr. Korgy is a bit cliche. He even says, "You make me feel young again."

I have this week off with no one so I've just been watching the Olympics and Superstore. Not sure if I'm going to finish Superstore by the time I cancel my subscription of Peacock next week. Is it worth finishing though? It's a fun show but I dunno if I need to finish it.

I think the funniest olympic commercial that I'm seeing on tv right now is the one with Tara Lipinski. She is saying to be yourself to feel good. She is advertising botox. Nothing is more myself than shooting poison into my forehead so I don't have wrinkles.

The new compression top that I got from tomboyx is really working because kids at work keep asking, "Miss (my name), are you a boy or a girl?" I keep replying that I am a teacher and they nod and go, "Oh yes, a teacher."

I know that I wouldn't care to see random housewife from reality tv show #57 in my broadway show. I'd want to see an actual trained broadway actress making her broadway debut than housewife

Got a Peacock subscription to watch Olympic sports. It's weird that they have three different tiers. As if someone wants to watch ads on their streaming site. You better believe that as soon as March hits I'm canceling it.

Also, during my lunch today my co teacher was like, "We're going to add another station to our rotation. You're cool with reading a book to the kids right?" And I was like, "Oh right!" Now, should I read the same book 5 times? Or should I read 5 different books? We'll see what works best.

Working in an early education center be like

I haven't been sleeping well. I don't know why but probably because of the state of the world or something. Anyway, hate that when I do fall asleep I have those dreams where I'm trying to find a bathroom.

Sometimes I see Amazon delivery drivers in normal cars. Fuck you Amazon, you're a billion dollar company. You should have plenty of delivery trucks for your delivery drivers. What are we doing here. Fuck you.

I love you tomboyx. As a person who has had gender dysphoria since 5th grade, I am grateful for the compression tops. Thank you for making them.

Anyway, I think he overall had a good time. I had a good time as well. I drank a lot of fancy (probably expensive but was given away for free at this party) juice. I didn't have to break up any fights between children. I got to jump in the jumpy tent when there were no children. 10/10 party

He had a full on diva moment when his mom tried to sing him happy birthday. I guess he was not ready (in his defense, his god parents was giving him something to open) and he screamed, cried, and ran inside his house.

Then between that moment and me leaving, he took off his pants.

There was two jolly jumpers and a blow up dart board. Spiderman showed up. She must have spent a couple grand on this. He just turn 4.

I went to one of my student's birthday party yesterday and damn his mom must make a lot of money because it quite a spectacle. There was a juice cart. There was an ice cream cart. There was even a little wine cart for the adults...

I kept correcting her but I soon realized that she cannot make a regular s sound in this situation even breaking it down by the phoneme. She's 3 and some months so maybe she'll get it eventually. But her asking why I was putting the cooters away was really funny.

We have bikes and scooters at our school site. They are located in a shed but they are left out most of the time. I banned this one child from using a scooter because he kept running his scooter into another child. This other child kept asking, "Why are you putting the cooters away?"

So we made it through this week without too much drama. Just had to hear my co workers ask each other, "Did you get your health form filled out yet?" and reply, "No but I'm going to Urgent Care this afternoon. Hopefully they don't make me wait hours."

God, what a shit show.

My co teacher got the flu or the flu shot and was feeling crappy today so I got to be head bitch like I predicted.

The paras complimented on my circle times so that's good. I like a routine personally. My co teacher likes being a little more... spontaneous I guess.
