It would be nice to know what exactly is meant by "...and other internal metadata." Companies build detailed profiles of their users, accumulating metadata from different sources. This would concern me more than any unauthorized sharing of my contact info.
And hello from "original" Jersey (the Bailiwick) which really is nice. And I say this as an expat who used to live in New Jersey so I know what you mean.

Oh, it's more than badges and hats. There are also the previous criminal convictions from all over. bsky.app/profile/paca...
Thank you!
NIST regularly test all these facial recognition algorithms, and publish accuracy rates broken down by race and gender. pages.nist.gov/frvt/html/fr... As per usual with tech, women and people of color fare worse.
At work we have a form we can use to request browser extensions, as everything is locked down. I filled one out 6 months ago, asking for an ad-blocker to be installed company-wide. Thousands of users. I didn't expect it to progress, but today it was approved! Fantastic news, try it at your job.
The intrusive ads are bad enough, but the real issue is all the stealthy data harvesting and exploitation of users.
For iOS / Apple only, try 1Blocker's paid version. It is inexpensive and worth it.
For everything else, or if you use iOS + Windows, try NextDNS (also very inexpensive & worth it).
Jersey IT staff, is there a trick to convince local couriers to accept HP or Dell warranty parts returns?
The prepaid labels are worthless and we eventually just bin the parcel. Is it the same at your job?
Also, thanks to the BBC for highlighting road safety in Jersey again. Let's start by reducing the casualty rate for cyclists & motorcyclists here, which is DOUBLE the UK's rate. That is inexcusable.

Sunset view from an airplane window, with large mountain peaks rising above low clouds.
View of CΓ΄te d'Azur airport and Monaco from the air.
Sad news about Blue Islands shutting down. I know their on-time record wasn't good but the crews were great and they took good care of us on a recent Verona trip.
And look how much nicer the view is passing over Nice and the Alps, at half the altitude of a passenger jet!
A ballistic vest meant to stop a bullet βis definitely going to keep you safe from a sandwich thrown at you," Sean Dunn's defense attorney argued.
Cat wearing a removable bib.
@dieworkwear.bsky.social I'm looking for a nice mid-length wool (or heavyweight linen) coat and noticed a trend towards removable "bibs" in many new coats. This trend is a crime against humanity worse than dress sneakers, right? Any recommendations ~$500 please? Can be new or used.
A Cannondale CAAD8 bicycle leaning against a wall.
Has someone in Jersey recently had your Cannondale CAAD8 bicycle stolen? This one sitting unlocked for nearly two weeks at my workplace. No rust, nice bike in perfect condition. There is a Mark Pickford's shop sticker, but sadly they don't know whose it is.

Fuck the Raiders. Tell people it's a Breeders tattoo. (and yes, also drunk in photo)
Anyone have a working "cellular" connection for your Apple watch in Jersey? I bought one as a gift, and was disappointed to see it warn that Jersey Telecoms network do not support this feature. support.apple.com/en-gb/119601

Might this data be subject to FOI requests? For example, a list of reporters who signed, or at least which news organizations are compliant?
Also, does Hegseth add you to his Signal groups once you sign up? Could be worth it, that's all I'm saying.
Freight companies serving the island operate UK->JE forwarding services that profit off the current restrictions, so it may not be in their financial interest to contact Amazon and resolve it. But it's hard to blame them and the cause is unclear. So for now, Jersey consumers pay more, as per usual.
The item in the listing is a 10,000mAh portable charger. Now, I can order a laptop containing an even larger capacity battery for delivery to Jersey no problem, so the battery does not seem to be the issue. But that's what their help pages cite.
Error message displayed on Amazon UK website for products they refuse to ship to Jersey.
"This item cannot be shipped to your selected delivery location."
An ever-increasing number of listings on the Amazon UK website like this. Originally due to air freight restrictions on certain hazardous cargo, but obsolete now that all Jersey freight comes by boat.
Is there anything users can do?
Four dimmable LED lightbulbs, in their packaging and of different manufacturer and types.
For years, most dimmable LED bulbs I bought would flicker or buzz annoyingly with touch control lamps. But today at Romeril's, they suggested "trailing edge" dimmable LEDs which work perfectly! I had no idea. You will never find that level of service online, so don't forget to try your local shops.
Check your ad blocker settings for "Annoyances" filter lists to enable. Test a couple different ones though, some block too much for mainstream use.

A Chick-fil-A sandwich, or something vegan on whole grain? It matters, dammit.
If you remember your username there, you can try searching it on www.oocities.org
Thanks, I'm with Islands now, but my experience has been very poor. I keep having to file a Petty Debts case against the other driver to get what I'm owed. In my view, policyholders deserve at least a cursory effort to defend their claims. Especially when dashcam footage proves their claim.
