I suspect they intentionally made the choice to reduce liability to drivers
Particularly sad to see how many options I would have had in walking distance if I could also travel back in time.
It really is. I was just poking around for maps for something I wanted to write (care to share anything about writing about transportation? ;) ) but now I want to go back and read it all.
does anybody know what the green "Suburban employment routes" are in this 1979 map? So many of them.

Literally!
Also all the routes that existed 20 years ago and don't now, even before the new routes come out

just saying the #SandySprings Transportation Master Plan should include letting some more kids ride bikes with protection from drivers
This seems extremely optimistic to me but I hope they pull it off.
I heard that idea was up in the air.
Still plenty of room underground to dig a loop.
save money on a new lane, let them drive on the current one /s
For beltline rail but also society in general, I'd like less innovation and more using proven technology to help people

"discussed what she sees as young womenβs unnecessary anxiety about climate change."
What would you guess this PSC Commissioner means by that?
Georgia, this is the sort of thinking behind your rising power bills.

dull gold tinted sedan, with dark tinted windows. Lift sticked on windshield. A phone can be seen in the driver's hand. Taken from up in a bus seat, corner of seat is in the bottom left corner of the picture.
I know all about being close to autonomous vehicles
like this Lyft beside by bus today, with only a phone user in the driver's seat
ahhh
"so incredibly scary and isolating and also boring, that weird thing where you're both stressed out all the time and your brain isn't really being challenged or working"
My ride was idk how many millions of dollars. It takes years to order, test, and operate a new one.
Could be automated but they still have a person up front.
I've been reading Jon Birdsong's updates but haven't been able to get down there for a minute, thanks for the pics.

Zoning alone won't make all land as valuable as these plots beside Alliance theater, such that a condo with a tiny fraction of an acre is nearly five million. But even mere SFH subdivisions only occur if a developer pays more than a single buyer. We need development other than corporate offices.
I don't know about the art, but one of these dense midtown condos is selling for 4.8MM.
The claims about it being politically difficult in #SandySprings to subdivide are true. But a more useful question is, how many homeowners would like a politician to increase their property value through zoning?
These robots are viable in places that are too dangerous to bike. We need safer bike paths yesterday, but until then if a driver hits a robot nobody is hurt.
I've seen Chick-fil-A robots on sharrows, which I far prefer to their cars where the drivers can be speeding or looking at their phones.
heh kidding but it was topical, tickets do seem to be available givebutter.com/lifeaftercars
Sorry, that's terrible.
No gun, but a driver turning left and cutting in front of me and my now-deceased but then slowly limping dog chased us with his van, then when I walked away he parked, got out and asked if I wanted to fight.
Sigh. Hey, you going to the war on cars live show? ;)
Don't let age hold you back from your dreams

Unfortunately they already built cruise ships, which are functionally more US parks
every Atlanta driver should have to go through intersections without a car until they get it too
A normal induction stove needs 240v. If you have gas there's (almost certainly) 120v now.
There are options coming on the market to use 120v with a battery. Or you could ask an electrician about wiring 240v, might be nbd.
For new builds though, smh if there's no 240v, so many benefits.
