«O Agente Secreto» er en herlig brasiliansk film satt til det politisk urolige 70-tallet med råsterkt rollegalleri. Wagner Moura spiller herlig som det titulære hovedpersonen. Nydelig filmet skildring av brasiliansk kultur og historie. Fem på terningen.

Og med det fornuftige svaret fikk dere et nytt medlem. Har alltid hatt sansen for Humanetisk forbund som livssynsnøytral organisasjon. Poenget om medlemstall i religiøse versus livssynsnøytrale organisasjoner og konsekvensene for politikk er nok riktig.

Er utmeldt av den norske kirke. Jeg stemmer også på partier som ikke er reaksjonære. Men har egentlig aldri tenkt på å melde meg inn i livssynssamfunn. Men slike tilbakeslag som det her får meg til å vurdere det.

Kraken overbeviste ikke helt. Stilige effekter, vakker natur, fin kinematografi og habilt skuespill redder inn filmen. Historien blir rett og slett litt for tynn. Men lar man det kritiske blikket ligge er det en moro film.

My local grocery store started selling Samyang Buldak Carbonara Ramen, and after trying one I'm hooked. This one is only at level 2 out of 5 on Buldak's spicyness chart, but that was more than enough for me. Ended up filling up my cupboard. 🍜

I do think LLMs of today could whip up a pretty good comment section implementation on top of ATProto and bsky lexicon for whatever technology you might be using. The API is well documented and has a good client.

Heh, it is janky indeed. Never got around to implementing public comments. Also now that Bluesky/atproto supports Oauth based authorization it would’ve been nice to support that.

There are other more drop-in friendly libraries now. Not sure if any of them support posting comments though.

The default http-probing scenario was a bit aggressive, so had to override that one. But otherwise it seems to be doing a fine job!

It is possible to just direct users to register on Bluesky first and then come back. But it feels wrong not to share in the hosting burden and runs contrary to the decentralization philosophy of ATProto (maybe).

I’ve been contemplating a social app idea that runs on top of ATProto, but hosting PDSs for users that are also open to other apps seems a bit daunting for a one man show. Content moderation and storage/resource use would be my main concern.

Right off the bat I really like the simple UX. I'm not going to be setting up any advanced funnels or anything else. I appreciate that tracking is truly anonymous, and by self-hosting I ensure data only touch my own server. Pretty nice. Already seeing some analytics seeping in. Hello France 🇫🇷!

So I spent 30 minutes setting up a self-hosted umami.is instance to track traffic to my website. Pretty nice, you just need Postgres to store data. Probably not quite as performant at analytics queries as Plausible which uses Clickhouse, but should be more than good enough for my small site.

I’m self-hosting my PDS. But I’m looking forward to Eurosky hosting a relay and appview. I think this will also help mature the whole ATProto network like Blacksky already do.

@eurosky.social is really exciting. Hosting core infrastructure for social networking in Europe without inventing yet another proprietary social media platform is a powerful idea. I’m just really hoping the Swiss PLC organization materialize soon so I don’t have to worry about Bluesky axing it.

Self-host all the things!

I've not moved my site just yet. Need to make a Dockerfile for my Astro code, build and push it to the registry and write some Ansible config. But I'm certain this is going to be very nice in the end. Self-hosted source code, self-hosted Docker images, self-hosted Astro on VM. All in Europe.

Spent the better part of my evening preparing a new Scaleway VM so I can move my snorre.io website from Cloudflare back to Europe. Fell down the rabbit hole of setting up Forgejo registry on S3, hardening my SSH setup further, and playing around with Scaleway Pulumi stuff.

As a Norwegian I can't help but shake my head. The narrative that the Norwegian government controls the Nobel Peace Price is laughable. I'm pretty sure the Norwegian government would have preferred the committee not give it to Liu Xiaobo back in 2010 sparking years of Chinese economic punishment.

Which name registrar are my fellow European tech people using? I've been happy with Cloudflare, but with the way things are I'm looking at going Europe all tech things. Scaleway will launch support for .dev domains in 2026, but they are a bit expensive for .io domains. Any other good registrars?
