New in Google Drive. Perform a search, get this wickedly vague and somehow all encompassing consent.

What the heck would I be agreeing to, and does not accepting somehow reduce the efficacy of the already-bad search function?

I tried to watch it about a year ago and was shocked by how cringe it is from beginning to end.

Spoiler: I quit watching

I used to do IT and I learned that when people call they have two problems. The tech problem, and the emotional problem that they're upset enough to call. You have to fix both for it to feel successful. People need to feel heard and respected, especially when they already feel dumb and defensive

Iโ€™m helping an elderly friend with his Samsung mobile. I asked him to do a simple restart, and wouldnโ€™t you know, Samsung routes the power button through Gemini. Asks him to enter his Gemini password (which he doesnโ€™t have) to power down.

Caitlin KALINOWSKI over X

I resigned from OpenAl. I care deeply about the Robotics team and the work we built together.
This wasn't an easy call. Al has an important role in national security. But surveillance of Americans without judicial oversight and lethal autonomy without human authorization are lines that deserved more deliberation than they got. This was about principle, not people. I have deep respect for Sam and the team, and I'm proud of what we built together.

Please contact your representatives - and congressional leadership - and tell them to protect online anonymity and the Fourth Amendment.

Tech cos are looking for this next trillion in this business. Itโ€™s not about kids. And congress is doing their bidding.

The Department of Justice has sued 30 states and DC for access to their unreacted sensitive voter data. My law firm is fighting them in all 30 cases.

We are dedicating so many resources because these are the most important legal fights and the future of free and fair elections is at stake.

No, I'm an academic who has struggled with suicidal ideation all of my life who understands just how important it is to have access to tools that can provide judgment and stigma free help.

I advocate for all of the folks in similar positions that have received immense help from chatbots.

Most important thing Iโ€™ll do this month: I just spent 10 minutes emailing my congress members AND leaders of the 2 parties.

The Fourth Amendment is the one that makes so many of the others possible.

Taylor gives the script below.

What a dramatic difference from the statement of Palantirโ€™s CEO, which he made about 2 days ago.

I still canโ€™t believe people arenโ€™t talking about it more.

Someone just reminded me of the activity and damned if I wasnโ€™t really happy all the time when I was diagraming sentences.

Better than sudoku?

The crazy thing is that this is a Chinese firm, which just announced that itโ€™s going to maintain the ability to mine huge amounts of UK and European citizensโ€™ private comms, but the BBC is leading with the โ€œitโ€™s good that they can intercept our dataโ€ spin.

This almost seems quaint after reading Palantirโ€™s CEOโ€™s post today. TLDR: our business model is surveillance; thereโ€™s a lot of money in surveilling people for governments; if you donโ€™t do it for them theyโ€™ll commandeer your company. Plus defending using the R word b/c it didnโ€™t hurt his engagement.

And โ€œnew hardware requirementsโ€

Psychology says people who donโ€™t maintain many close friends often learned independence too early I remember being twelve and standing on a chair in our kitchen, trying to reach the top shelf. There was a step stool somewhere, but it felt faster not to look for it. Faster to climb. Faster to stret...

Psychology has a name for this pattern: hyperindependence. It often forms when someone has to self-manage too early, whether emotionally, practically, or both. Independence becomes a strength โ€” but also a shield.

Makes you wonder: are they really that stupid, or are the investing in/funded by these lobbies?

Next up: Dems are failing because sometimes we treat women like people.

โ€œFishโ€ can be both singular (one individual) and plural (multiple individuals of the same species.) โ€œFishesโ€ is multiple species.

๐Ÿ  Fish

๐Ÿ ๐Ÿก๐ŸŸ Fishes

Now you know. And knowing is half the battle.
