We used ecological niche models to assess how climate change may affect two Neotropical wetland birds (Gubernetes yetapa and Heteroxolmis dominicanus).
Results suggest range shifts but loss of highly suitable areas.

Here, we investigated drivers of spatial variation in the abundance of a South American frui bat. Competitor richness emerged as the strongest predictor, outperforming climate, topography, and land cover, highlighting the role of diffuse competition.

Our study published in Biological Invasions quantifies the negative effects of invasive plants on bird diversity. We found that herbaceous invasives and those with non-endozoochoric dispersal significantly decrease bird richness and abundance. Full paper here: link.springer.com/article/10.1...
