Individualized gene therapy is great! That's not what drives policy.

Another frame cribbed from a conversation about science policy in the meeting I'm at today: people are worried about gas prices because they have to work two jobs to pay rent, unlike the Jetsons where a single income supported a whole family and we could dream of flying cars.
Not what I said, comrade. We work in the same field. How are research funding decisions made? Who sets NIH/NSF priorities? Who decided DDT was safe? Who decides how technology is applied in a capitalist milieu? Who handles externalities?
Nature is healing
Comments here just immediately reinforcing the statement lol
Which forest won't have a state come along and evict you? Are you familiar with the Enclosure Acts, and who benefited from the resultant reserve army of labor?
Pretending that capital doesn't enforce participation doesn't make it less true.
This is, unfortunately, a third rail for many people who refuse to re-examine their priors or inject even the smallest amount of nuance into their thinking. "Progress traps? What are those? One more innovation will fix this!"
In exchange for all of these machines in our homes, we've had to put both parents to work. Who really got the bigger benefit? The homemakers who had to get jobs? Or capital who due to a surplus of labor were able to drive labor prices down?

Derrick was still on the Crew last year, but at the end of his contract. It was IMO unlikely he was gonna earn a new contract anyway before this broke.
They've only been here for 400 years, tho.
I can't believe we didn't score there. 0.9 xG in that sequence. #Crew96
Unsure!
Cucho was such a magic player. I'm glad I got to experience it. I hope we have another lightning-in-a-bottle player while I'm still kicking around. #Crew96
Still no Gomes on the bench. Assuming he is either not fit or doesn't have his work permit? #Crew96
Uhhhhh, you can still do that. That's still there. Still a thing. If anything, climate change is putting more pressure on that than, say, pronouns or whatever.
I'm so tired of the circus. He's a great player, and still is, but the league itself acts like "Messi League Soccer", and that diminishes the entire thing. Having to take a bus 3 hours for a "home" game in Cleveland was so insulting.
Just built an inexpensive standing desk for my hobby space in the basement. It's a cave down there, but at least now I can stand when I'm working on stuff instead of hunching over like a gremlin.
How much of Kimi Antonelli's car was the same car he demolished in FP3? Real ship-of-theseus hours in the Mercedes garage.
His jeans are vintage 90s style lol
Juan Pablo Montoya is like a kid. Giggling as the cars zip by. It's actually refreshing.
Gonna be wearing shorts when I collect my beanie and scarf tomorrow. Happy Crewsmas! #Crew96
Tony Sanneh only played 8 games for us? Really? I would've guessed two full seasons. Man. He was so good. #Crew96
Seems there might have been an implied way to get a better review ...
Black and grey cat sleeping on my leg
My elderly cat is maintaining his weight and is in great health. Very happy about it.

Congress continues to decline to do its job. Neither party seems particularly interested in keeping Congressional powers with Congress. Always enough D votes to fall short. Always.
Good start to FP1 lmfao
