To protect us from issues like these, we've started advertising our prefix to our other upstream with BGP path prepends.
Our primary network (AS401720) had some small outages starting at 18:00 UTC due to issues stemming from our upstream provider (AS13335).
It now appears to be fine, but we're continuing to monitor.

Matrix is one of the best examples listed because it's federated, open source, and you can host it yourself.

We've put up a new blog post detailing the DDoS attacks which impacted our network, and what we did to mitigate them.

- We're in a good place now with our mitigations
We'll be writing a full blog post with the finer details in the coming days.
TLDRs;
- We received large 100Mpps (100 million packets per second) floods of small sized UDP packets
- The attacks came from a Mirai botnet distributed around the world
- The attacks completely overwhelmed our router CPU, as is the intention of high packet rate and low packet size floods
We've implemented additional protections.
Things have been stable - but we'll continue to monitor.
Our network has been stable for a bit.
We're continuing to monitor.
Our primary network (AS401720) is under attack.
We're working on it. In the meantime you may see instability or complete disconnections across our services. Updates to follow.
An announcement regarding the UK Online Safety Act & age verification and how it affects our services
TLDR; it doesn't apply to us, and we won't comply π

Itβs time to move away from platforms like Discord, and onto decentralized platforms like Matrix.
Matrix is an open network for secure, decentralised communication. Interested? We host our own homeserver.

Weβve worked many hours improving this 3D model. Weβre planning to print many of them with PETG (with pictures to come).
Planning for a large deployment. Hint: they mount Raspberry Piβs into a datacenter rack.

Some are connected via Starlink or other more covert methods already. We want to reach the tech savvy people there.
π¨ We are looking for fairly technical people in Iran that can test new filter breaking software.
If you're in Iran, have a macOS or Linux machine - please DM us. We might be able to help you get through the filters without Starlink (albeit at a much slower speed).
